It's My One-Month WAnniversary!

A month ago, I was sitting here at my computer facing a New Year with no plan for how I was going to pay the bills and support my family. I knew there was money to be made online - but I didn't know how to do it. I had heard of affiliate marketing, but I had also heard of rocket science. I knew Amazon had a program of some sort, so I did a search for "Amazon affiliate program." One of the results I was served was for Wealthy Affiliate. I don't remember now what prompted me to click on the link - it's not something I would typically do - but I am sooo glad now that I did!

I immediately started going through the first training module. Everything was so clearly explained in a way that I could understand it but without being condescending. On the second day I actually woke up earlier than usual. I had a strange feeling that I hadn't felt in quite some time - Hope.

By Day 5 I had completed all ten lessons of the first module and with both fear and excitement put $19 (discounted rate) on the line to upgrade to the Premium membership. It took me all of two days to realize that I did not want this to end after a month and I took the plunge for an annual membership.

It's one month later now, and today I will complete module 2 of the training. I have created my first money-making website. It hasn't made money yet (I'm going to learn that in module 3,) but I understand so much more about how this works now, and I'm confident that my little microgreens site is going to produce a stream of income. I have written and published four articles on the site so far. The 7,378 words I have written is probably more than I had written in the previous three years.

I've made connections to other human beings who have that same entrepreneurial hunger that I have, people who have walked this road before me and are willing to share their successes and struggles to make the way easier for me. I have so many other ideas for money-making websites now that I have to hold myself back, to focus on just taking each next step in the training, to check off each next task (I absolutely love that feature, BTW.)

My absolute favorite Superbowl commercial yesterday was the Bill Murray/Groundhog Day/Jeep commercial. That's how I feel now - I practically leap out of bed in the morning (OK, that's a huge exaggeration) because I can't wait to get my morning chores done and then get to work on my website stuff.

In one month's time, my life has changed. You wouldn't know it yet by looking at my external circumstances; but I can feel it on the inside. And that's where all real change starts. Thank you so much my awesome WAmily!

GOALS:

1 month from now - to have completed module 3 of the training and to have monetized my microgreens website

3 months from now - to have made my first commission of any amount

6 months from now - to have completed module 5 of the training and moved on the Affiliate Boot Camp; also I'm hoping to hit my original $100/mo goal by then

11 months from now (my one year WAnniversary) - to have earned enough money from commissions to purchase a new laptop and renew my annual membership
