Brain Overload!
I am really enjoying my time here at WA and learning so much about everything. My problems seem to be coming from the following directions: my husband, whom I love dearly, who wants me to get rolling and making money, my advertisers who are clammoring about their ads for the Christmas Season, and all the things I need to learn and do at WA and Street Articles.
I try to read the blogs and posts, and read Street Articles and then get ready to writing an article, which I am so far behind on I think I am truly ahead of myself. Suddenly realizing that my niche is really too broad and I need to narrow it down, I think.
I am also wondering about my big site at GoDaddy.com and if I should use it and fill it full of articles and can I use the All in One SEO on it? So many things going through my brain that I just feel like my brain is totally overloaded with information, questions and no answers.
What I need is for some good soul to help me get my act together and back on the right track. I am open to all helpful input and suggestions. I sure could use Jay or Kyle to get my head straight on all this "stuff" as VP Biden calls important things.
I am trying to keep a sense of humor about me or I would probably just cry from sheer frustration. I was doing so well and somehow the bottom fell out of my plans.
So, I am asking for anyone here at WA to help me figure out a solution to my dilemma. I need to be moving forward and I am in total limbo. I would really appreciate the input. Thanks for listening and I do hope you can help me figure this all out.

I think we all go through this, especially in the beginning. Veronica is right, using the keyword search is the best route, have you tried the alphabet soup thing yet that is in one of the lessons? that is really helpful too.
Yes I really like alphabet soup...it is a great one. I just needed to narrow my niche and focus on a specific issue that didn't have a million people doing the same thing.
It is easy to feel overwhelmed and completely understandable we all do at times.
I would drill down even further Healthy Weight Loss is a very big and broad niche. I have not done any keyword research but some angles could be "healthy weight loss what to eat" "healthy weight loss for teenagers" "healthy weight loss for senior women" "healthy weight loss after having a baby" "healthy weight loss exercise" ... there are soo many angles to this.
Focus on one subniche get that going and don`t move on until you have some success with that first subniche. Feel free to PM me if you need any help,

WV Lady! Take a deep breath. The same thing happened to me about a month and a half when I was here. It finally just caught up with me. What I was doing was trying to mix the old with the new. Once I just dumped the old out and started on the new I have been fine. I was afraid to write because I hate writing. But I just did it anyway! So IMHO (in my humble opinion) if you have a website already started you could just start adding content to it and writing articles and submitting, sharing with FB, twitter, etc. doing all those things. If you are using WordPress then you should be able to find the SEO app and install it on your site. If you are not, I don't think you will be able to use it.

You cannot jump into the fire until you have trained to put the fire out. You will be fine. Don't give up and take a deep breath and calm down. All will work out. You are working hard and probably feel like you are going around in circles. And you may be, I don't know. But I do know if you will slow down a bit it will all start to fall into place.

I just took a deep breathe! I agree I need to throw out the Old. It is hard when you start with a bunch of "professionals" like Ben and Dave and they get you to sign up for affiliate programs and you have no clue what to do with them, the program is so outdated it is back with the Caveman, and you finally find a place like WA that actually teaches you how to do things and the old baggage is sort of dragging you down.
I need to have a heart-to-heart with my hubby and try to explain that the "shiny object' that was dangled in front of us by Ben and Dave and their 'Six Million Dollar " crap, was not exactly the way to do this business. I haven't said much to him as he just got diagnosed with adult onset asthma and it has had our lives a bit upside down for a few months.
The whole thing boils down to my niche is just too broad. It has got to be cut way down so I can actually do some good for people and not be trampled by the thousands in the health and wellness category..
You know, what is bad, I would have talked to my mom about this if she were alive. Not that she would have understood this concept of business, but she would have listened to me rant and ramble about SEO and niche marketing and by the time I was finished with my time on the 'soap box', I would probably have had my answers.

I agree with dave. Take baby steps and have a plan on what you want to get done each day and stick to it. as for your niche I think it's pretty good, although i personally believe you can narrow down a bit more. But, I don't want to give you advise on this as I'm learning myself, I'm sure you can get some help from someone more experienced.

WVLady...If you're not careful...you will burn out. Stop, take a deep breath, and relax. Realize that this is not "Get_Rich-Quick" and it's not doing everything at once that will get you there. Sounds to me that you have no plan and are trying to get everything done at once. A little time-management will work wonders for you. Specify a set amount of time to spend each day and stick to it. If it's an hour, then use that hour for this business. Plan your work and then work your plan. Once your hour is spent...then push the chair away from your desk and lock the office up for the day.
I know that this isn't much, but a plan and time-management will be a tremendous help to you.
Well, Dave, I started with a plan, I just have outside interests interfering with my goals. I know I need to learn this before making money, however, I was sucked in by good ole Ben and Dave's Program and joined Commission Junction and now I keep getting advertisers and I am not ready for all of that. I am trying to write content that is good and helpful. I am afraid my niche: Healthy Weight Loss is just too broad. I was wondering if I needed to narrow it down some.
I have all day, usually, to work on things, however, lately I have had cogs thrown into my well oiled organization machine. I am a perfectionist by nature so all of this "clutter" in my business plan makes me a bit aggravated. Thanks for the talk!
I took a little time to look at your niche. And you are right...It is far to broad and open at this point in your business. Do the following and you will see why I say that...
Go to Google and type in allintitle:"healthy weight loss" You see that there are About 104,000 results (0.22 seconds) This is a very high amount of competition for you to go up against in the business of weight loss.
Now type in allintitle:"healthy weight loss diet" You will see that there are About 6,210 results (0.23 seconds) This is very low competition compared to 104,000 and your chances of success are far better.
A little more research and I found that there are about 6600 monthly global searches for "healthy weight loss"...That's a lot of people looking for it.
There are presently 1900 monthly global searches for "healthy weight loss diet"...That's still a lot of people searching for you on a monthly basis.
The lesson here is that you want to find a niche that has a high amount of traffic with a low amount of competition.

Dave, I appreciate you checking out the niche and giving me the stats. I should have had sense enough to do that, but I was not looking at that while I was ranting and now I can see clearly what the problem is and how to fix it. Between you, Shaun, Joyce and Stacy, I think I can get back on the track and moving forward. I do believe it will help me with my articles, in that I was a bit intimidated to try and compete with so many others. I sincerely appreciate the help and the info. I feel like I was floundering in the water and you all got together and threw me a life preserver. Maybe that is a bit dramatic, but I was in a situation that I couldn't figure out a solution to and you and the others jumped right in and helped me. I will never forget all of your kindness.
