The only easy day was yesterday
For those of you who don't know, I can be just a tad intense. I strongly believe that what you put into the universe will be returned back to you in direct proportion. So when you put out some really intense vibes about being successful and rich and financially independent, you should receive that back 10x, right?
Well i've been wondering why I haven't got there yet. Why haven't I made a sale? Why have only 25 people clicked through to my site organically by now? Did I just spend the last month of my life working 100 hour weeks (between balancing my job and doing this, probably ended up being 120) for nothing? Is the website crap? Do I need to pick a more profitable niche?
Yes, believe it or not, doubts come to my mind. They come all the time. I've never done something like this before, what to expect is beyond me.
There is a saying in the U.S. Navy SEALs (whom I respect above almost any other group of people on this earth, I used to want to be one) that "the only easy day was yesterday"
What does that mean? That your life is going to be hard and you should just suck it up and accept that life sucks?
No, are you kidding me? Absolutely not.
That means that we are only happy when progressing. When we have something to achieve, we are truly happy. Nothing (save for family and loved ones) can bring you the kind of happiness you desire or seek any more than what achieving a goal can.
The only easy day was yesterday. Do you know what is meant by this? It means that as you go about your day, don't try to figure out how to make it easier. Find out how to make yourself better.
Do something extraordinary. Run a marathon. Quit your job. Tell your boss where he can stick his stupid on-time delivery reports. Buy a homeless person lunch. Give that relative you fought with for a reason nobody can even remember a call just too say sorry. Prove your alive.
If we don't claim our freedom, who will? We are only here for a little while my friends, let us make the most of it.
Truly, it is not what we do, but how we do it.

thanks for the blog- maybe the lesson you are learning at the moment is the most important onefor you - you are not in control!
you cannot force the visitor to become customers - but you can give them the best you have. if they don't want it then they are not the right customers for you!!
but there are customers out there for you- always remember that.
what you need to do now is to slowly build up your product launch - work on the site but don't release the material. start spreading it in little snippets on social media- get your friend to do this as well.
build it up for a couple of weeks - see if you get more hits on the site - if not hold it back for a week - i need to make sure it is perfect for you don't i?
give it a time limited or nunber limited entry - you can only handle so many students etc put it on 'sale' for a few days at the start.
but learn patience - you have a good product now learn how to market it. don't just hold it out and expect people to notice.
you are doing extremely well, getting visitors is the start and you have !!
we all get down and this is the time when you need the community to help - well we're all here holding you up.

patience is definitely a virtue I need to learn, never really taken the time for it before now, but I can see how essential it is!
Yes I do have visitors, pretty grateful to have that and to have the email list I have already.
Problem is I don't have a product and I don't have an organic source of traffic. When people come to the site, it feels like they come because I'm posting it on social media and G+. I don't think that is a good way to about it personally.
Yeah you need to advertise yourself but if people aren't coming simply because they were searching for your stuff and came across you, are they really going to by?
Basically, you've hit it right on the nose here. I feel extremely close to figuring this out, just need to find that last missing bit.
yes they will buy !! these is targeted traffic. they want to be there - never mind that you don't have a product yet - hopefully you know when you will have at least the first part of it. so start getting interest in it by offering a small niche exclusive launch for your list - money off or other freebies.
don't just rely on organic traffic - others don't.
are there any language forums? are there any sites about how to learn a language?
with the sm you need to define where the traffic will come from - 80/20 rule ( 80% of your reward comes from 20% of your work) so make up a person you want to visit your site and target them. then do it for another and another etc. this way you may build up the different markets you want. but notice 'you can build up the markets you want' no-where did i say build it and they will come - you need to work hard at the marketing, once the site is there you need to now move into marketing mode - you have put cards at the local supermarket haven't you? drop them on the table when you go out etc!!

Yes, we all start to doubt ourselves when things don't seem to be progressing the way we would like. What you need to do is look at each success you HAVE had. There will be many successes and fails before you reach your goals.
It's all about if you can keep that momentum up for 3 years and then you'll see what happens........you become valuable to society and not just yourself. I like what you have written and I hope you have the drive and determination to be a 'tad intense'.......lol !

Keep at it just like you have done before. This is a cake walk compared to what you have been through!

Thanks for the insight! Not the point of the blog though. I admire the SEALs because their training is the toughest in the world. Yes they operate discreetly and do not want attention drawn to themselves. However, they go through hell on earth to achieve the right to be called a SEAL. My point is that I was finding inspiration from a group of people who accomplish feats most find impossible.
I wasn't implying I'm trying to get the same reaction from my websites as they get, just trying to inspire some motivation! It's what I'm here for :)

Like your post. there is a physical analogy in heavy traffic The best cars on the road are those behind you that can't catch up! Anything on the sides or ahead is a problem.
