Let Loose & Be Silly
Hey Everyone
Hope you all had a positive Easter and you made it the best of it with the restrictions on get together & pressure of social distancing. I know this year was a lot different for us, & some of my extended family. Missed seeing a lot of loved ones and past traditions that have just become the norm for our family, although I can say that it turned out pretty good. We had some tasty food and some busy little monster kids running their little hearts out.
Our family members that came over don't have a yard for their toddlers to run around in at home, so the kids were in hog heaven with so much to do outside. That energy they have just builds up and needs to be released & I have realized that is without a doubt a true fact. Adults are not the only ones becoming ticking time bombs with cabin fever, kids need a release too. We often forget this, when there's so much going and stress levels are high. We can't expect them to understand what we don't understand ourselves. Or that we are just trying to keep them safe & healthy, or to keep the roof over their heads.
During times like this I couldn't be more grateful to live in the deep country side with not a lot of road traffic. Can't help but feel a more safe living far away from the big city & busy foot traffic. Though, I sure hope this doesn't last during the summer holidays, because that would definitely be a major bummer. Keeping positive thoughts & hoping for the best as I make the best of each day.
One thing I would like to say is that being informed of the current status of this fight is good & all, but don't let it consume your attention & life. Don't let it control your attitude & how you treat your loved ones or others. It's hard to not see a pattern with some people that are nose deep in all the news, social media updates & word of mouth gossip. Remember that we are all scared and worried about our loved ones & ourselves too! If you are in this category of people then this is for you....
**TURN OFF THE T. V, RADIO, YOUTUBE, PUT THE SMART PHONE DOWN, OR SHUT THAT COMPUTER OFF FOR A WHILE!! STOP TORTURING YOURSELF & YOUR FAMILY AND KIDS, BECAUSE THEY MISS THE OLD YOU! Step away from the entire conversation & subject. Do something fun & talk about something positive & totally unrelated to this soul sucking crisis going on, please. Your family will appreciate a change & happy to see that side you still.
Take care all & please feel free to tell me what you think about my post. I don't mind if it only helps one out of a hundred people, that's OK with me. Give me a like or even better a positive comment telling me how you snapped yourself out of the blues! If you can't think of a way, let me suggest turning on some happy upbeat music with no commercials, & dance with your kids, significant other, or friend. Dance like no one is watching or dance like everyone is watching. Either way, let loose, laugh, smile, make a good memory to treasure during such a hard time. My kiddos think its fun to dance to popular oldies' music on spotify. I dance silly & make them copy me so they look silly too. I started doing this a couple months ago & now they beg me to do it all the time, & never turn me down when I invite them to jump up & join me.
