Basically after scouring the internet for decent and cheap domain registrars, I've come across a few who are offering them for less than a lowly quid for year.

Problem is,

Dan,over a short period of time http://Namecheap.com has come up regularly.
You've got some good comments here for that :)

Managed to get a free domain with my hosting package so that was a small bonus. I'll be using namecheap probably for the next one though! Thanks Papi :)

You are welcome Dan.

Namecheap are good.

Cheers, checked them out and like the look so far!

I have found http://NameSilo.com as one of the easiest domain name sellers to work with and they are cheaper than most.

Thank you, I'll add that to my list! :)

I recommend http://Namecheap.com or even http://Godaddy.com - you'll find the domain names cost less than $10 to purchase for a year.

And none of the malarkey

Hope this helps

I've used godaddy before and I had loads of grief when I was trying to do a domain transfer or something!

Will definitely check out name cheap though, thanks!

I use Godaddy for years and have not had any issues - but I have only used them for buying domain names. I host everything with Hostgator

Ditto with hostgator, best hosting I've ever used. Might check out godaddy again as well then!
