Back on Track
So, I took some much-needed advice from another WA Associate and realigned my goals and tasks. I had been putting so much pressure on myself that I was intentionally not doing anything on my website. I have been away almost 2 months procrastinating. I was also very busy with work, a wedding and the farm. Spring is always a busy time here and I added WA to the mix. I just didn't have enough time in a day.
So I have tried to make my goals and tasks much more realistic. I know we all have obstacles and commitments in our lives. So I decided this is not a race, I need to focus on what I want to do with this great opportunity and proceed at a pace that I am not beating myself up by not meeting my goals. It will come with hard work and commitment, and our level of commitment will be all different. If I could spend 8 hours a day on WA, I would, but unfortunately at this time I don't have that time available. So what have I decided to do:
Good question! I have decided to allow half my time training and half my time writing each day. I am determined to keep up on my e-mails and to build my network. I am also, at this stage of the game, wanting to give comments on posts, don't feel I have the confidence or experience to comment on websites. I love learning about what others are doing, and I see all the different writing styles and at the same time I earn credits. Just love that too. And at the end of my week, I will do a blog on WA to validate my week. I know boring to others, but I will be able to go back in time and see what I have accomplished.
I am definitely here for the long haul. And want nothing more than to give up that full time job I am beginning to detest. I used to love my job, although I always knew there was more to life than working for someone else.
So, my first week with my new goals and weekly task, I have been successful. I have met each of my challenges and am eager to carry forward. I have also been able to help a couple members with questions. Wow I didn't think I had any knowledge to be able to do that, but obviously I am learning. Every step is a step closer to the end goal.
In closing today, I want to say that this community is great. People are so helpful and supportive and I do believe I would have thrown in the towel by now without it. I get frustrated and give up easily. But not this time.
Thank you everyone for your support and advice. This is a great place to be.Wanda

Right there with you. Been procrastinating for a few months paying for the premium membership but not using it. Time to cancel or time to act. I think after reading this I'll take action. 👍
I am glad this helped. Small steps helps me alot to stay focussed.
Keep up the positive attitude.

I hear you my grandson was here for a week and today I was dragged out of the house by my hubby to go shopping
Yeah I know with other commitments at this stage of life makes doing this process very difficult. It's best to try and take the pressure off yourself with this by doing what fits into your life schedule better, as you are doing now. Yeah it's nice when you can devote eight hours or more a day to it as so many others can but it's quite a bit harder for those who can't. It is true it's not a race...better you know what your doing and set a plan than just going at it without rhyme or reason. So stay the course and stick to what works for you. Best of luck in your endeavors...

It is extremely important and helpful to make your life work for you instead of running around feeling like you are slacking! I am glad that you were able to look at that and figure out a game plan that works for you and your life.
As for reviewing other people's sites, I personally do not think that you have to know everything or even a lot. There will be people looking at other sites that have never even considered starting a website, but they still have opinions on what they would like to see or expect to see based on the domain name, article title, or just the layout of the site altogether. I think you could offer some great advice even if you are still completing the training. Nobody here will ever stop learning new things.
Peace
Wow! Thanks for that encouragement! I lack your confidence, but I will get there.
I will try and comment on some websites in the upcoming week, that will be my goal!
Thank you so much!
