2000+ Words in the Bank!

I came to WA with a little bit of experience and an existing blog. In the past, my blog posts have averaged around 600-700 words. I never really had a concept of what I needed in my posts to make them effective and attractive to readers. I ended up with posts that didn't have all the necessary elements.

I'm happy to report, following the WA teachings and using the templates we have in Site Content, today I published my first post of 2000+ words which included "low hanging fruit" keywords.

The funny thing is that I didn't feel I had to work any harder to write more words. I took some advice offered from the site and made a personal commitment to avoid distractions and just hammer my article until finished.

I have to admit that I didn't finish it all in one day. But, I did eliminate a lot of distractions which helped keep me focused on my goal.

I think going forward it will become easier and easier to crank out articles of similar length. I'm eager to put the process to the test right away.

Thanks, Debbi.

To paraphrase that intellectual giant, Forest Gump:

"Mama always said practice makes perfect". :-)

Such a good movie. I always liked the part where he said life was like a box of chocolates.

Good going, but you need to be careful not to make posts too long or you will loose readers who find it too long or detailed. Or maybe it's just me who does that. Sometimes I open a post and see that it goes on for ever and think that I can't be bothered reading all that and leave.

Thanks for the advice. I will consider that going forward.
