The more I learn, the less I know.
Seems like the more I learn about Affiliate Marketing the more I realise how little I know. My progress has been slow, but on and on I go.
I now have a blog with five posts. I have Google Analytics installed (since yesterday) so I can see if anyone reads any of the content (apart from WA members). I've learned about networking and how much time it takes. I have also learned that there are many blogs out there that are not worth reading and there are many that are brilliant.
I am also reminded of the old saying that a wise man talks because he has something to say, and a fool talks because he has to say something. The same is true about blogging and comments. The fools become 'time-thieves', the wise ones add value and help me on my journey of learning.
Being a wise fool myself I can only hope that this little rant adds value to someone's day, and perhaps causes the fool to think before speaking or written.

Wiebren,
You're right. You don't know what you don't know. That has its pros and cons.
The pro is that at first, you don't realize that you've barely started what is going to be a marathon/mountain to climb, so you forge ahead full steam, full enthusiasm with no hesitation.
The con is that you still have to do the work to complete that marathon/climb that mountain anyway.
The more you know, the more you realize how much you don't know. The more you know, the more you realize how tiny that is in relation to the vast amount of knowledge out there.
It's very good that WA sets new members' expectations correctly about affiliate marketing - it will take time and effort.
Regards,
John
Thanks for your reply John, learning often has four stages: 1. Unconscious incompetence is not knowing you don't know something. 2. Conscious incompetence is knowing you don't know (or how much you don't know). Hopefully after this comes 3. Conscious competence, you can do the job but it requires much awareness and effort. 4. Unconscious competence, you can do the job almost on auto pilot.
Onward and upward.

Isn't that a wonderful thing!! The more we learn, the more we realize there is so much more to learn. That is so much better than the alternative. To know everything. Life would be so boring then.
Looking on the bright side, my friend.
All the best,
Wendi ;)
Realising how much I don't know is just another step in the learning process. Thanks for your comment.
