Memorial Day
Today is Memorial Day in the U.S. as most of you know. It is federal holiday to honor all the fallen military personnel who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Regardless of where you live, you most likely have a day to commemorate veterans as well.
It is important to take a moment to think about what our military does in order to help support the freedoms we enjoy (and often take for granted).
Although many people in America will probably celebrate the day with a good meal and a cold beverage, hopefully most will take a minute reflect on how servicemen and women give their all to defend and protect our liberties.
Unfortunately, sometimes that means giving the ultimate sacrifice.
In these troubled times, it would be wonderful if everyone, even for just a day, could put their issues aside and come together as one.
Several years ago, I had the privilege of visiting Arlington National Cemetery. It was an overwhelming moment and one I will not forget. When you see that many graves up close and personal, It makes you wonder why we can never seem to learn from history.
If you see a vet today, take a moment to thank them. I'm sure they would appreciate it. And if you serve or have served, let me take a moment to say "thank you." Your deeds do not go unnoticed.

I don't live too far from Arlington. Of course, this area has an abundance of military. Sad that so many of made the ultimate sacrifice for us yet some won't even realize it. Happy Memorial Day.

Hi Debbi...that is beautiful part of the country. It is very sad that so many have perished and I found it overwhelming to see all those graves. But you are right, it's even sadder that some don't even get it. Happy Memorial Day to you.
