Promoting Wealthy Affiliate with Google - Caution

Someone is definitely out to hurt people that promote Wealthy Affiliate. Wayne Wallace just had his account shut down and suspended, now I'm not sure if he had videos on youtube or posts on Google+ promoting Wealthy Affiliate, but I'm guessing he did.

Over the past several weeks I've seen a several people post about getting their accounts suspended and they all either had Wealthy Affiliate review type videos or posts, or had been directly promoting WA.

Several of my videos all got flagged and had age restrictions applied to them after a manual review. If you check most videos on Youtube that rank for Wealthy Affiliate related terms you'll see they all have age restrictions in place.

I Know a few members have been making some post on G+ sharing Wealthy Affiliate posts, only to get their accounts shut down.

Until this is addressed I would personally avoid promoting Wealthy Affiliate directly via Youtube or G+, and when I say directly I mean try not to use the name Wealthy Affiliate, because if you do these people will be able to search and find your content.

Who and Why, I don't have a clue, but many people including Kyle have ripped scammy programs like Empower Network apart and for good reason, but perhaps some people from these other networks have decided to try get some revenge. Going after people who promote WA would hurt the WA community.

Please note that I'm not saying it's related to EN, because it could be anyone, many members who follow bootcamp etc, reveal scams etc in their review posts.

If you go to Google Plus and do a search for "my.wealthyaffiliate.com", change the option to "most recent", you should see that Nov 13th is the latest Wealthy Affiliate affiliate link.

Now I'm not 100% sure how the search works with G+ but that tells me that anything you post with the URL my.wealthyaffiliate.com is being removed.

Freaking trolls!

Oh thank you Craig for the heads up!

What do you think about Vimeo?!

I don't know if this was related but at the end of Feb I posted my WA site to G+ and it choose the Starter/Premium comparison graphic from the content as the featured image. A few minutes later the post to G+ disappeared so I tried again a couple more times and same thing. I then posted without the image and it stuck. I see it is still in my profile so I likely snuck it by with out the picture. If that's what was going on.

My thought at the time was that WA didn't want it posted for some reason.

I am glad you opened this discussion. I wasn't sure, after I heard about what is going on, what we should or should not do for now.

I just don't understand why people do this stuff, thank you for letting us know.

I hope this gets resolved soon.

I think most of us write about scams, and so do lots of people not at WA, so this EN thingy looks favorite to me.

What a shame, Welshy. I hope that this get resolved. *Melanie*

Thanks for the heads up, Welshy! ..............Pat

Hi Welshy,

I just read Wayne's post about this and am sorry to hear you've had several of your videos flagged now too.
What I don't understand is how this could happen. Is someone reporting everything WA related as spam at G+? and wouldn't they need proof of some sort?
I haven't been on G+ for a week or so, been too busy, but I'm going to go over there to see if anything's been happening with mine.
Well, unless I've been kicked off too. :(

This is just so wrong. I sure hope this gets resolved soon. Best wishes! -Sherry

#7 Spam:

Do not spam, including sending unwanted promotional or commercial content, or unwanted or mass solicitation.

Do not aggressively add people to your circles.

I'm guessing that if someone posted a few links to WA, this could be classed as promotional spam in the eyes of some.

So anyone can accuse you of spamming. I would think Google would know spam from a post.

Hi Welshy,
Thanks for sharing this!
I did check out G+ and I can still find my posts that were from my own websites, but I didn't see any that were from WA directly that I know I had shared awhile back ago. But maybe it was from so long ago that I just couldn't find them anyway.
Well, I guess I'll just share my own websites there once in awhile for now, since I did find others sharing theirs. Just makes me angry that this is happening since WA is such a great place :{

Hi Gordi,

It seems so, especially if you overdo it with sharing from the same website. Just stinks, I know. You'd think they'd realize the difference.

It's just worth bearing in mind that Google don't have to have proof of anything. It's their webspace and they can do anything they like with it.

Has anybody actually tried to contact Google to try and get a specific answer from them? There are thousands of products that are promoted on YT by millions of marketers so there must be a particular reason why WA is being targeted.

Good point Cool City!
I'm not sure if anyone has tried contacting Google or not why they're punishing links to WA. Maybe because they're considered affiliate links if they're shared directly from here, rather than from your own blog would be my best guess.
I still don't see what the big deal is, since like you mentioned, there's a lot of others promoting products. Maybe there's so many of us sharing the same blog posts etc from here, but, I'm not sure.
