Our Global Community
My friend Jozeph recently created a blog entitled "The Writer's Den: Todays Tiny Tidbits of Grammar Tips 2. See it here> https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/jozeph/blog/the-wr... I like reading his stuff. It got me thinking a little about the global community we live in.
Now, I can't spend too much time on this so forgive me if it doesn't all come together perfectly. I gonna just dump it on paper and let it roll....
Let me use this analogy to explain global community:
Back in the day, (giving away my age) houses were so close together, (especially in inner cities) you could almost reach out your window and touch your neighbor's window. I'm sure we've all seen the movie, "The God Father" where the neighbor passes a sack full of guns from his window to Vito Corleone.
Or, you lived just across the hall, just above, or just below another family in a tenement building (apartment building) You could hear all the family issues, good and bad, because they lived so close.
You knew their names, birthdays, relatives, likes and dislikes, religion, and basically everything about them, even their nationality. And, visa versa. They knew the same about you.
Yet, more than likely, there was a mixture of cultures and languages. Each struggling to learn how to adapt in this new environment and learn an unfamiliar language called "English".
Yet, dispite all the diversity and what seemed like chaos, they got through it all and out came a nation called the United States of America. Think about it.
That is like the internet... The WA community. Diverse in all ways. I've reviewed a lot of posts and pages here in WA that are not grammatically correct, have a lot of misspellings, or just sound a little too broken, but that is the community we live in. The global community where we can now reach out and touch our neighbors on the other side of the planet.
Think about it!

Thanks for the mention, and also for sharing this post
Cheers

Great post Bill. It's kind of a coincidence but I had just been looking at the Google Analytics for my site and noticed that I have gotten users from all over the world. 297 cities to be exact. I was overwhelmed with how global my little BBQ site had gotten. Thanks for the post

The UK, there's another one for you Bill, the Diversity in the UK is now Mind Boggling , when I was growing up in London in the 70's we had Afro Caribbean people and Irish People joining our community and that was about it although we still had lots of other nationalities as well but not in such abundance, as an Island we need these people and although we obviously have an issue about what type of people come to the UK and how many etc, if it was not for the Vikings having a pop at the UK then I know my family would not have existed so there was this Global stuff going on way back when Hagar took to his long boat.
Yeah Man.......LOL
