Monetization Here I Come.

Ok... So I wanted to make some progress this weekend, but spending time with family and other social commitments took precedence.

Today being Monday, I decided to get back into the groove.

Unfortunately I didn't get to do any work in the morning like I did last Friday.

I was able to put in about 2 hours this evening after work...

I was able to sign up for a few affiliate programs.... And I read up on the importance of using a "Bridge Page" on my website.

I learned something new today... In the Online Entrepreneur Certification course, Kyle talks about using a bridge page on your website, where your affiliate links would be posted.

In other words, rather than having affiliate links posted on your individual blog posts that go directly to the affiliate site, you should create a page on your website and have all of your indivual blog posts link to it.

This page is what is known as as "bridge" page... It is a page between your articles and the actual affiliate landing page.

In all of my prior years of affiliate marketing experience, I had always thought that it was OK to simply post affiliate links on your individual articles.

Apparently, Kyle is saying that this is bad for SEO, as it looks spammy.

So I am going to give this a try.

Step #1) I'm going to create a page on my website that basically "pre-sells" the product (or products) that I wish to offer affiliate links for.

Step #2) I'm going to go back through each of the 9 articles I have posted thus far, and add a handful of links to my Bridge Page on each page.

My understanding is that "internal" links is also very important for SEO... So this Bridge Page will be one (of many) internal links.

Step #3) I need to go back through and add images to some of my blog posts, which I had forgotten to add.

If all goes well, then by the end of day Tuesday, I hope to have live affiliate links on my website.

(I am waiting to be approved by several affiliate programs, but I have already gotten my Amazon Associates account approved, and I have been accepted at least 2 other affiliate programs in my niche.)

So that is the plan.

And best case scenario, I hope to try to start some of this early in the morning before work, rather than waiting until after work.

Right now it's time for bed, and it would be unwise for me to sacrifice sleep and stay up late to work on it, as my productivity would not only be less than optimal at this hour, but I will be extremely groggy in the morning tommorrow...
