One thing that I have noticed is that many people, myself included, share their Google rankings.

We mustn't for one second believe that if we are ranking high on Google that this is where we are going to rank for the foreseeable future.

I did a little experiment...

My affiliate site, My Worldwide Office, went live about six days ago, has one article and I have not touched it since. It is still a work-in-progress.

In that time, my Google ranking has improved slightly. Strange but true.

The only thing that has changed is that I have had three more visitors to the site in the past four days.

I publish articles to my other site, My Five Years with the Devil, on a regular basis, and that Google ranking has slipped.

There can be many reasons for this; keyword competition and a much bigger niche being the first two that spring to mind.

I have also had an extra ten new visitors to the site in the past few days.

What we really need to do is work at our sites and have a look in six month's time to see how consistently we rank on Google.

We need to relax and not put too much into our Google rankings during the initial stages of developing our websites.

Yes, it is great ranking on the first page of Google, but the the real secret is how do you keep yourself there.

I guess that is where WA comes in...

That's great advice. There are so many variables at play. Yet you should try to determine any trends and adjust as needed. ~Debbi

Good advice, Wayne! I try not to obsess over rankings.
