How difficult is your niche?
I have done the grunt work; choosing a niche, setting up a site within that niche and published a few articles to the site.
The thing is that the niche that I am in is huge, but the sub-niche I find myself in, is practically non-existent.
There is very little research out there for me to write from a scientific perspective, even though the effect on men and women would probably be the same.
I am writing from experience, but if I publish two or so articles per week, I will have exhausted my experiences within a month or two, and then what?
It would be more practical to write a book on my experiences.
Doing keyword research, I get between 80 and 500 searches per month, the QSR is below 300, and the SEO power is deep into the 90's.
With numbers like that it should all be hunky dory...
Then reality kicks in.
The bigger niches are obviously where the interest lies, else they wouldn't be so competitive.
It is great to find a niche within a niche where there is little competition, but to build interest in your topic, is a totally different issue.
Oh well, back to writing another article for next week, and to continue the battle.

I love the title of your site, Wayne. Can you expand your relationship advice a bit? I checked a few keywords. "Relationship advice" was a no go as it is way too general. "Online relationship advice" gets almost 64,000 searches a month, yet has a QSR of 197 and SEO of 82. Not low-hanging fruit, by any means, but maybe a compromise? I then tried "Relationship Advice From Men" and got a QSR of 151 and SEO of 90, with over 5,000 searches per month. I think getting this type of advice from a man is very different AND something a lot of men may be looking for. Can you add a Q&A? Dear Abby made a ton of money. How about Dear Albert? Just thinkin' off the top of my head this morning.
Absolutely amazing advice Carla, thank you.
I haven't thought about a Q&A page, but this is now at the top of my list, along with trying to put together a Resources page.
Also, broadening the scope of advice will definitely open up my site to a whole new range of possibilities.
And I thought that I already had enough to think about...
