Marketing To Local Business

Hey Everyone,

It's been a long time since I logged into the ol' Wealthy Affiliate account to see what has been happening. In fact, I am amazed how many new faces there are around here.

I really hope that most of you following me or reading this post have succeeded in some way or another because of Wealthy Affiliate.

I joined many years ago ( or so it seems) and had huge ambitions to "make it" online. However as I grew as a person and an online marketer I came to a few realizations.....

1) being successful online does not mean your making $100,000/year online
2) the smallest victories add up to big returns

Having realized the two points above success seemed to come over night. Since being with Wealthy Affiliate I have made thousands online and have enjoyed every moment of it. I started out with a few affiliate sites, then built a link building company (which was sold for an amazing profit before that whole thing went south) and now market to local companies and businesses where I live.

Remember that what you learn online does not mean you can not use that knowledge offline. In fact, if you do use what you learn right here and apply it to marketing to small and large businesses in your neighborhood, you can actually make amazing money.

Today I no longer do affiliate marketing...I guess you can say that I just got tired doing what everyone else was already doing. I turned my sites on local business and now earn recurring revenue streams from businesses in my own city. A pretty sweet deal and I have landed some huge companies to my portfolio.

Remember that local businesses are just as hungry as those online and building websites, helping with online marketing and providing online advice can still bring you as much money or more than online marketing can.

All the best to all of you in the New Year and drop me a line if you ever need any help or advice (which I hope I can provide)

Take it easy
Vince

Yes, I need advice, I"m creating an online mall for the retirement city I live in. I will be blogging about the various activities that people are involved in here (hiking, golfing, tennis, pickleball, biking, kayaking, cards, etc) and I will be offering affiliate products in my "shops". I want to give the local businesses a way to purchase an "ad page and offer printable coupons"> I'm not sure how best to go about it. I have the mall site framed out and will be opening one new "shop" each month. Each shop will have groups of 5 "best of" products. i.e., for Hiking shops, top five hiking poles, top five hats, top five small backpacks, top men and women's boots and shoes, etc. I will be creating "Best of" and "top 5 of" blogs about the products offered as well as general blogs about hiking, tips for hiking, local hiking trails, etc. I've been trying to think out the advertising for local businesses and how to do that, what to offer and pricing. Any help is appreciated.- Shirley

Hi Vincent, very good post, agree with the messages. Diversification of revenue streams is highly desirable in any business to help with the peaks and troughs over time.
