Creating an "about me" post with a photo.
I am not a professional photographer, yet selecting the right selfie to represent myself on a website is a slight struggle. I realize that women are different than men and as a female, my physical appearance is a precious commodity. Is my hair done right? Is my make-up on too thick? Should I smile or just look straight into the camera? I am sure men have a few of these thoughts too but selecting the right picture is like choosing the right shoes to go with an outfit.
How does a person select a picture that truly represents who they are and not simply how they look? Is this something that should be considered or ignored? Maybe I should just pick any photo and be done with it. The struggle to capture my image has become of importance to me because it gives clues to the world around me of who I am. Should I pose for success and dress-up or should I select a photograph of who I really am on any given day of the week? I will eventually settle on a photo but I just don't want to settle for less of who and what I truly am within a picture.

I don't like taking pictures because the camera only sometimes like me. A woman's appearance this is a tough one for all of us ladies, I think.
You want to look nice but not desperate. However, if the camera does not like you what chance to you have to convey your true appearance.
That should be the questions...Why do some people take pictures better than others? All of this for a image , a likeness of who you are, So much weight put on such a small thing.
How about we just take photos of our feet. If you going to see me and judge me do it by feet.Just throw a big toe up in the air. LOL!!!

I don't like getting my picture taken so I'm probably not the one you want advice from. However, my two cents - go with what feels right for you. Trust yourself and either snap away or close your eyes and chose one that you have already taken. LOL
