How Will the Super Computer Affect Affiliate Marketing?

Help! Help! Help! There is a quantum leap coming in computer technology.

Super computers are coming, soon, very soon.

How will it affect our business, folks?

Without going into too much technology explanation, it is necessary to look at how the new kind of computer will work.

We also need to know what it will do for us.

What will the differences be? Don’t worry, I will keep it simple.

Modern Computers

Work sequentially. That means they do first one thing, then another.

They do this very fast so it appears that they do many things at the same time.

Modern computers use “bits” which are like switches, they can be on or off.

Story: Imagine you are building 10 houses of bricks. You put one brick down at a time.

There are about 9,000 bricks in a medium sized house, at one minute per brick, it will take you about 1,500 hours to lay all the bricks.

Quantum Computers

These super computers work in parallel. They can really do thousands of operations at the same time instead of one after the other.

Supercomputers will use the bits on and off at the same time.

Story: Imagine your supercomputers are building the 10 houses. They put all the bricks in at the same time.

Result:

Normal sequential building = 1500 hours, (90,000 minutes.)

Supercomputer building= 1 minute.

Is it possible?

Microsoft have set themselves 5 years for a commercially viable supercomputer.

There are 2 methods for producing Qubits, the building blocks of the new supercomputers.

A quantum computer will probably be 100 million times faster than todays’ fastest laptops.

Google claims to have a functioning Qubit based computer now.

All Classical encryption would be obsolete and it would be possible to gather information about every person in the world in minutes.

There are issues around

1. The noise these computers are sensitive to and

2. The level of errors.

We are in the early days yet but the technology is just around the corner.

At the moment these supercomputers require temperatures close to absolute zero and they go horribly wrong if their environment warms up, even a little.

There is a new move to utilise a sub-atomic particle, called a Majorana. This is after the name of the scientist who first proposed the existence of it. This is where things get a little complicated: they have not exactly found this particle yet, or, should I say invented it. they are looking hard.

(BTW, sub atomic means smaller than an atom, in case you did not know, e.g. an electron or proton.)

What do We Want These Supercomputers for?

We are close, very close. These computers could be viable in a few years or a few months.

They could be used for

• high speed research into diseases and cures,

• find solutions to world pollution

• solve our plastic problem

• find solutions to genetic problems

• ensure all the traffic lights were as green as possible.

• Reveal politicians eating habits and expenses.

How Will Supercomputers Affect Affiliate Marketing?

Ideas on a postcard, please.

A few thoughts of my own:

• Analyse dynamic trends in purchasing of specific items.

• Identifying supply and demand at a product level.
