My Journey with WA thus far

Hi All,

Vivian here. The sun has risen 15 times since I became a member of WA and premium member in particular.

Starting off as a complete beginner with only the computer skills I acquired throughout my 20 year project management career. I had no website building or affiliate marketing skills.

I am a very analytical person and normally take my very good time before making decisions and this often leads to quite a bit of time passing before I "pull the proverbial trigger". With this opportunity it was different. Completely different. I clicked on the link of my affili-coach and came to the WA website, signed up, got involved with the training and I realized I had found something special. My first day, I was being wished well by random strangers and what was really obvious, was the sincerity that shone through within the messages. I just want to say thank you, thank you again. You are strangers no more.

My Update

I have just now, 20 min ago, finished my Level 2 training.

What have I accomplished thus far:

  • Confirmed my first, second and possibly 3rd niche - (currently working on Motorcycle Helmets)
  • Registered 3 domains for my nishes
  • Busy building my website for niche no 1
  • Have 4 posts written, all with keywords researched through Jaaxy and using Kyle's Google Alphabetsoup technique.
  • Commented on 6 content pages of fellow members and have 3 comments on one of my posts in my website.
  • I have acquired new skills, made new friends and a community where I feel comfortable to ask questions and share ideas. This I see as the most important point and one that will help lay a strong foundation for a successful online business.

Obstacles

  • My analytical mind and habits cause me to write 3 - 4 days on a post. I want it to be perfect. I need to get my ideas on "paper" quicker to become more effective in content writing
  • I have second second-guessed myself on my posts and on my keyword usage. I believed that I was using too many keywords, but then my coach explained that as long as I was using my own words and my content was original and made grammatical sense, it would be OK.
  • My website layout is still not as I would like it and I still don't have the skills to change it the way I want it. I am not sure if this is dealt with in the next Lesson?
  • I still need to get familiar with the term SEO and understand it fully. Is it a setting on my website that needs to be switched on or is it as a result of my content in my posts?

My Goals

  • My 3-month goal (by 28 April) is to have 2 websites up and running and at least 10 posts for each. (Can someone guide me with the numbers please? Because I am a newbie, I have no idea if this is enough posts or not? I want to at least try to have some positive results after my 3rd month). Keep learning.
  • My 6-month goal is to keep building on my first 2 websites and keep adding content, but also to have an additional 2 websites up and running. Keep learning.

Question

Where and when does social media come into our process? I have only got experience on Facebook and have a LinkedIn account. I know a lot of you use Twitter and Pinterest. Where does YouTube fit into this?

I realize that I have asked a few questions, but the thing is, is that I am so fired up. I want to succeed and want to be able to help others along the way. It is you, this community, that is helping with this feeling and anticipation to success.

Thank you to all that have contributed to my growth in the past 2 weeks.

Kindest regards

Vivian J Young

Looks like you are progressing well. Being analytical and organized is your strength. Over time, you will get better at balancing getting content out versus getting it “perfect”.

As for social media, find one that fits your niche where you can build an network or following and then drive traffic to your site.

You are making good progress Vivian. Keep up the good work.
