Why Impressions Matter For Your Online Business
Whether you're new or above in the world of internet marketing, knowing certain terms is important and in this case, the word impressions is what I want to cover today. What is it?
Simply put, it just means how many times has a keyword you are ranking for or targeting (say in your PPC campaigns) popped up in an X number of days. So for example:
I have an MMO site and log into my search console to see how it's doing. I see that How to make money online is a keyword that's ranking in Google and has 2k impressions in the last 28 days. All that means is that this keyword was looked up 2,000 times in the last 28 days, that's all.
It doesn't mean I got 2,000 clicks or visits to my website, it simply means that keyword was searched (in this case in Google) 2,000 times. Based on that info I can then make educated decisions on what to do with the marketing of my site to target and rank better for this keyword and that's what this video explains.

I liked your video but I'm sorry but I need to correct you.
Your interpretation of impressions is wrong. Impressions are the total number of times your website or content has showed up in SERPs for a keyword you're website is ranking for.
So for your example in the video your website appeared 1.01K times in search results for the keyword hiking gear in Vegas.
I hope that makes sense and sorry once again I had to correct you.
