Strategies to Recover Your Business From The Google HCU Update
Basically I've put the site that was hit on pause and relied on sending other forms of traffic to it, most notably:
- YouTube videos linking back to it
- Getting more rankings/traffic from the Bing search engine
- Making NEW sites that are currently doing pretty well on Google (and utilizing the same expansion strategies for the one that was affected by the HCU)
If you're currently experiencing similar issues with your website, refocusing your efforts on the above things can really help a ton and possibly even completely supplement/substitute the success your site was experiencing on google (and possibly even higher). That itself is a comforting feeling knowing that you are rebuilding, but perhaps to even greater results than before!

I´m not sure I understood it right.
Do you take posts from the site that fall down or are crushed, rebuild them, and post them on sites b and c?
Many have said that it is very difficult to come with new sites now, this seems to made that statement wrong?
He is trying, like I am, to build the traffic back up from socials and Bing, he is not actually reposting the same things.
Besides the social traffic from his crushed site, he is ALSO building a new site.
I have read on twitter as well, that new build sites are still growing, because that older site that got crushed, probably had a so called 'site-wide -classifier' on it.
(and I had to dive into this too, as a non-native speaking English person on what this means)
It means that Google considered your content overall bad, if you had just a few 'unhelpful' posts. So Google basically punished your whole website for a 'few mistakes'.
They might turn this back in time, but it's not quite clear if and when.
So, in the meantime, your main focus should be on building those socials, while still keeping your crushed website fresh with let's say one blog post per week.
AND/OR you can start to build a second website, because that is guaranteed to grow (for now at least, who knows what Google might do)

Thank you! And for dive in, I would have needed it too!
Still wondering though if I can use similar/very close than the orginal post.
Sorry my stupiness!
NONO, you are NOT STUPID, my gosh! I know too well that you can misunderstand things because your native language isn't English!
For that last question, I think it would be better if you ask this from Partha, because I can be mistaken here ;-)

Hi Vitaliy
I agree that video and social channels are currently great options. I also really like building an email list because nothing can take the traffic we generate from it away from us.

Finally someone shares this on this platform, thanks Vitaliy :-). I am building a third site on my Africa Travels, but this time in Dutch! Because I have noticed that in my language, I don't compete with things like Reddit, Quora, etc. I am literally translating my own stories from Africa in Dutch (but on another hosting). Basically, I have nothing to lose now with my Africa site, as it is completely dead.
My miniatures site is only growing because of Pinterest, Youtube, Facebook (groups), and giving it a go on Reddit (if you can't beat them, join them!)
Although the latest news from Google is now that they will reconsider small sites and their 'helpfull content', but when? In the next update probably, but that can take several months, so yes, a new site it is or focus on socials.
thanks!
