Pinterest Traffic Part 3: Turning Popular Keywords Into Pins

58.2K followers

In this part of the series, I will show you how to take popular keywords you find (in this case Solo Travel Destinations), make an article out of it using AI and then a sample pin that is optimized for Pinterest SEO.

The goal again is to find popular keywords on Pinterest using the ideas section, then making a blog post on that keyword and then making pins to link back to that blog post, then rinsing and repeating.

Hi Vitaliy,

I noticed today when I tried to look at the annoated interests for a keyword that I found in Pinterest, under site:https://pinterest.com/ideas 'my keyword' that the annoated keywords are gone.

When I signed out of Pinterest and I look at a keyword in Google, related to my chosen keyword in Pinterest, the annotated keywords are there for a second, but then they disappear.

Do you think that Pinterest has blocked the annoated keywords?

Sandra

Not sure, they tend to make updates from time to time and revert back to old things too. Regardless if you can still see them , whether logged in or out, you're good.

Hi Vitaliy,

Unfortunately, I am not good. I tried signing out of Pinterest just now, and then went to look at the annoated interests but it only showed for literally a second and then it was gone and Pinterest was welcoming me back.

So only seeing it for a second doesn't give me enough time to even click 3 times to copy the annotated interests.

I guess I will just have to use whatever the search shows me for annoated interests unless something changes.

Thanks for your help.

Sandra

Try looking at them in another browser where you're not logged in.

I opened up Bing it is not showing the annoated interests for my keyword.

I'm literally looking this up right now on Microsoft Edge and here are the annotated keywords: https://www.pinterest.com/ideas/outdoor-hiking/927301039717/

I'm not logged in...

Hi Vitaliy,

I opened up your link and I am seeing what you are seeing after I logged out of Pinterest, however, Pinterest quickly logs me back in within seconds and then that information is gone. :(

**** I just figured out why this was happening. Because I am signed into Facebook, it was Facebook that was signing me back in to Pintrerest.

So what I did was I logged out of Facebook and then the annoated interests are there for my keyword. Yeah!!

Thanks for your help!

Sandra

Hi Vitali,

I noticed the "Conversions" option under "Manage Business" section. There is a "Tag Manager" option under "Pinterest tag", on the left side menu. Do you advice to istall it? What are the advantages and disadvantages having it or not?

Hi Maria I honestly don't know much about this. My first guess is that it's mainly to be used if you're intending to use Pinterest Ads, but I personally don't do that.

Ok, thanks for your answer Vitaliy. I will not install it, I'll try to search some info around it.

Hi Vitaliy,

I was just wondering when you are creating those 20 pins for the keyword 'Solo Travel Destinations' that you are creating various pin titles and description ideas as long as the keyword 'solo travel destinations' is in the those titles and descriptions?

I just want to make sure that I am understanding you correctly, because you would need to create different looking pins in Pinterest with different descriptions and titles if your are going to use the same keyword in those titles and descriptions correct?

Also, what is the timing of creating those 20 pins which target one blog post? Are you creating and publishing them all at the same time or are you doing one per day?

Are you annotations that you are adding after the pin description strictly for SEO purposes?

Thanks,

Sandra

Hi Sandra so yes on the questions on diversifying your pin titles and images but keeping the main keyword in each one (solo travel destinations). As for timing, you can upload all 20 in one day and/or at once.

You may have situations where you're making more than 1 board and pins at once in which case 10 on each per day is also fine or even 20 on each in one day is fine too.

Okay, thanks Vitaliy for the clarification. For me, uploading 20 pins in one day for one keyword with different titles and descriptions would make me nervous about getting my account cancelled.

Are you sure this wouldn't be perceived by Pinterest and your followers as spam since you are targeting the same keyword (solo travel destinations) on each of those 20 pins that point to the same page on your website?

On the other hand, I assume that it could potentially create some great traffic to my website. :)

Sandra

I've been doing it for awhile and no issues. Plus I add a new board targeting a new keyword daily so overall I'm adding new content constantly. Spam would be uploading the same image or slightly different in the dozens lately or linking your pins to questionable affiliate offers or sites.

Another thing you can do to ease the worries is 2-4 new boards a day with 10 pins in each, then day 2 add another 10 to make it 20 per board.

Thanks Vitaliy for getting back to me with this information. When you say to create 2 - 4 new new boards a day, with 10 pins in each, you are talking about creating boards with new keywords?

Sorry, I am just trying to get my head around this concept.

Cheers,

Sandra

Yes each board = a new keyword target.

Got it. Thanks Vitaliy for all your help!
