Success is developed.not birthed.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED THIS…

Did you know that most millionaires are first generation millionaires? Yes, that’s right, the idea that the “rich get richer and the poor get poorer” is not really correct. When human beings are given the liberty and freedom to be creative they can do remarkable things.

SUCCESS ISN’T DEPENDENT ON YOUR PEDIGREE…

So your pedigree, that is your family background, neither ensures nor limits your ability to succeed. As a corollary to the same principle, did you know that success often skips a generation or two? That means that your success may not necessarily be passed onto your progeny.

How many times have you noticed the children of successful people never achieving the same success as their parents? I am sure you have seen those sad cases in the news. So believing that the family you are born into controls your destiny is not necessarily true.

SUCCESS ISN’T DEPENDENT ON YOUR LEVEL OF EDUCATION…

What about education? Isn’t it true that the more educated you are the more successful you become? Well actually that is not true either. The truth is that the application of the knowledge you may receive from education is what is the “magic.” Another word for that is WISDOM. Educated derelicts are common.

SUCCESS ISN’T DEPENDENT ON YOUR LEVEL OF INTELLIGENCE…

Perhaps you even think that the key to success is intelligence. If you had a different genetic heritage your life would have been all different…wrong again. The longest study of human beings on intelligence was performed over many decades by Dr. Lewis M. Terman. He followed people from their childhood into adulthood.

He selected children and grouped them according to how they scored on the intelligence test he created (the forerunner to the intelligence tests used today). His study measured the correlation of success to intelligence (IQ). His findings were rather unexpected.

The children who scored the highest on the IQ test did not “succeed” with any greater regularity than the children with the more average IQs.

SO WHAT IS THE “SECRET” TO SUCCESS…

When Dr. Terman parsed out the data he found that the children who were raised by very involved parents had the highest likelihood of success (you know that type of parent, the typical “Jewish parent”- I can say that because by grandmother was Jewish).

In actuality, it wasn’t the “Jewishness” of the parents that made the difference, it was the behavior of encouraging, pushing, and disciplining the child that created the character necessary for success. In case you didn’t know, Bill Gates had one of these types of mothers – Mary Maxwell Gates (click here to learn about her…she was amazing). Hey Bill…thank the Creator for your mother.

Success can be defined as, “the favorable and prosperous termination of any anything attempted” (Mr. Webster’s definition by the way). So how do YOU succeed in life?

YOU NEED A MENTOR…

I define a mentor as, “someone who is more concerned with my future than my friendship.” This is in contrast to the wrong type of “friend” who is more concerned with your friendship than your future. Bill Gates had a mentor…his mother (he may have had others too).

What if you are no longer a child, and perhaps you never had anyone who would mentor you, or perhaps you had no one that could mentor you, are you forever destined to be unsuccessful? The answer is you need to FIND YOUR MENTOR.

Did you know that the Wealthy Affiliate system is a type of mentorship system? Indeed, it teaches you how to develop a web based business step by step. It is all you will need to develop this type of business. However, your need may be even deeper than website development.

You may be in need of life skills mentoring. If you haven’t understood what I have been saying I will be more direct…YOUR SUCCESS IS DEPENDENT ON YOUR WILLINGNESS TO LEARN THE UNIQUE LIFE SKILLS NECESSARY FOR YOU TO SUCCEED.

It is the application of knowledge effectively…called wisdom. You can receive this in many ways but I recommend that you consider all I have said and realize that the process requires the adult form of parenting which is MENTORSHIP (there’s that word again).

When considering who the best mentor would be for you I would like to suggest that your mentor have the following capabilities:

  • An opportunity for one on one interactive live coaching. It may not be in person but it should be personal. These days this can be very effectively accomplished (in lieu of a personal appointment in an office setting or at a coffee shop) via Skype, telephone, or live chat. Good mentorship is personal and interactive.
  • A systematic approach to acquiring the knowledge necessary for you to succeed. You may be unaware of all the skills necessary for YOU to succeed. Reading random books and taking random courses is helpful but you may miss what you actually need. You will want to combine your mentor’s guidance with your systematic success study.
  • Your mentorship should be affordable. Mentors who volunteer their time are rare. I thank the Creator for them. However, this process will take time and effort. You want your mentor to commit to the process until you are have completed it (remember Mr. Webster’s definition of success). The best way to ensure this is to reimburse your mentor for their time…affordably.

There is a system in development that will include a comprehensive mentorship program. I have provided a link to a post on WA that explains this further: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/lifeworld/blog/what-we-prepare-will-change-everything-how-to-become-an-authority-a-wa-community-wish-training

Your success is one mentor away. You can completely redirect your life with the web building knowledge that you receive from Wealthy Affiliate combined with an excellent mentor to teach you the wisdom for success.

Remember, Bill Gates had a mentor…

Wishing you much joy and success in life,

Jeff
