I ain't no Alice, or am I?

Hmmnn... haven't posted yet. So a small update, okay a large one then.

It has been almost a few months since I joined. I have learned quite a bit so far, thanks to Wealthy Affiliate and the members whose knowledge, tips and training posts have been invaluable, thanks guys.

But WOW!!! what a learning curve, it has been one heck of a ride so far and I haven't even published my webpage yet; unfortunately I have picked a niche that, although I love, takes a lot of preparation and time to get the first lot of content up and running.

Let me fill you in on my journey so far by using a bit of a metaphor here; Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, a story written by Lewis Carroll. Naturally I have made the assumption that many of the Wealthy Affiliate family are familiar with this story, so my apologies in advance for those who do not, and here is a link to a quick summary of the story. http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/alice/summary.html.

My webpage site/blog is in the adult colouring-in niche. I will be publishing my colouring in projects to begin with, as I hope to attract other artist's to submit theirs further down the track. I am also planning so much more for the site though, as it is called The Colouring Life for a reason, more on that later. ;-)

So I got to the stage of building out my content for the three additional pages in Course 2, Lesson 2 when I realised that I would have to do some research on copyright and public domain etc. to start with, as I would be using other people's templates and artwork for colouring-in and examples to name a few.

And there it started; I fell down the rabbit hole that is the world of Google with that damn white rabbit always just ahead me, muttering instead of "I'm late! For a very important date!", he was, and still is, saying: 'Hurry! Hurry! You are late for your very important website launch!' (Er.. sorry I couldn't make it rhyme folks).

Arghh... Night after night, or should I say morning after morning after countless hours on the PC I would look up and see it was three or four in the morning a few times even five and six in the morning! Heck the next door neighbor's rooster was crowing!

That rabbit had taken me on an overwhelming journey through the labyrinth of his internet rabbit hole where I have met the Caterpillar in the Internet Archives, the Art/Museum sites and many others with his circular arguments and giving me his advice to "Keep your temper".

I have conversed with the Cheshire Cat on the Google browsing pages;

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."

In the legal pages the Queen of Hearts waved her flamingo in the air and bellowed, "Off with her head."

Probably the most important advice was from the king, the wise and beleaguered husband of the Queen of Hearts, who is residing in this very site:

“Begin at the beginning," the King said, very gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop.”

And that is just a small section of my journey following the white rabbit so far, I have met many more advice giving characters in many webpage sites on my queries and attempts on and in photo-shop and illustrating software and much,much more, where I found everything to be “Curiouser and curiouser!”

So maybe I'm just like Alice after all.

Well folks it's 12:39am here and I'm gonna have an early night and beat the rooster for a change. Goodnight.
