My life as a Caregiver Spouse
Everyday I pray the Serenity Prayer:
“God give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.”
With maturity and life’s experience, I came to realize that acceptance is an important part of happiness. It really defines you, your life and your surroundings so if you want to be happy, you learn to accept the things you cannot change.
No matter what, life will go on, people will do what they do, everything will continue the way it is, and our only choice is “do I accept it or not?” If we accept it, we go with the flow. We simply let life go on.
If we refuse to accept it, there’s usually a struggle which results in a feeling of pressure, pain, frustration, anxiety, fear and even resentment. We struggle with ourselves, and the struggle, for the most part, takes place within us where it does the most harm.

You are so right - we have to accept the things we cannot change. Paul wrote in the scripture to be content in whatever state you are in. The word content has changed so much thru the years so we think that it means to be satisfied. If you check back to a 1872 Websters dictionary it means to be at peace (or tranquil) in your conditions.
Keep it up.
