You are well covered here, but it is usually done via their Site Strip. I assume that you have been accepted into their affiliate program.

Yes. I have been accepted into the Amazon Affiliate Program.
I chose the product that I want to link to my post.
I do get the HTML code from the Amazon Site Strip.
I open up the HTML custom box and paste the code in it.
Nothing happens after that.
HTML code does not convert to URL. what am I doing wrong?
This is the code that I get from Site Strip:

amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "vanessia1-20";
amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "manual";
amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart";
amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon";
amzn_assoc_region = "US";
amzn_assoc_design = "enhanced_links";
amzn_assoc_asins = "B08FSYSZKR";
amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit";
amzn_assoc_linkid = "6796fe36d20716462daf63fb875b5fd7";

Please show me what to do.

When you see the code, are you viewing it via “Preview”, or how it’s being displayed after you pasted the code?
Also, can you confirm that you are using an “HTML” block, and some other block like a “text” block.
Thank you
-Mike
Hi, Vanessa
I suggest you use the block editor and create an "/html" block for images - using the sponsored tag. You can directly link your affiliate product code to text. Check out the video that Abie provided you.

You guys, the reference material do not give a step-by-step process on what to l paste where and when. That’s the kind of information I need.
I know nothing about coding. I’m not very technical savvy.
I need step 1, step 2, step 3…
I really appreciate the helpful links yawl are sending me for reference, but they don’t give me that step by step visual.
Until I get this process down pat, I’m dead in the water. That’s the whole point of these posts. To monetize. I need to be able to understand the whole process of embedding that cold into my post..
I understand what an affiliate is I just can’t get the Amazon Site Affiliate link to embed the promotional offer to my page. It won’t convert to URL. How do I create this special block?
For an image:
Get the Amazon html image code from your site strip
Open a new block in the block editor and type /html
Add the code to that block
Save your changes
For text:
Get the Amazon html text code from your site strip
Open a new block in the block editor and type your text
Link your code to that text
Save your changes
In your post there are two ways to view the content
At the top right there are two tabs Visual and text
Click on the TEXT tab and this will display the HTML view of your post
Paste the HTML code from amazon into the text view
Save the changes and go back to visual tab and you will see the visual of the code in the post
Barry
There is no option for views or text anywhere on my screen. I don’t know if I’m in the wrong place.
Go to your post if you are using blocks in wordpress click on the 3 dots and select edit as HTML
See image below
If your still struggling I can do it for you but I need access to your back end of your website
I’d appreciate any assistance you can give me. I did find out, though, that I didn’t have the Classic Editor active on my WP.
I did make the classic editor active and now I can see that there is a ‘TEXT‘, clickable and a ‘View‘, clickable off to the right.
It would help me a great deal if I could somehow watch you make this change, so that I can do it on my own next time.
What do you need, to be able to make changes on my website?
I tried to send you a message privately. The system would not let me send.
Please Send me a message in private and we will start that way.
Thanks for Everything
Vanessia
I can’t send a private message. I’m having to tag the message, which then sends me articles but doesn’t send the message.
My url is
thedigitaldatingdiaries.com
I have tried to past in the code to one of my websites and it does not convert to an image I don't know what's wrong and if you need to do a further step to link the code to amazon
Are you using the block editor? If yes, all you need to add an HTML block to your post and paste the code there!
Refresh and voila!
Cheers
Pedro

I like a lot of color in my writing. I’m not really feeling the black, especially when I’m trying to emphasize something. If anybody could give me any direction on
Hi - that would be down to the theme you are using.
You would need to go to Appearance and Customize.
However, as boring as it seems, plain black font on a white background will keep visitors on your page for longer.
And colored font generally indicates that it is a clickable link.
So, you could confuse your visitors.
Hey Vanessia,
Jay has a couple of great classes where you can watch him change font sizes, styles and colors step by step. Typography and Colors just click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of your WA home page and search for: font colors
hope that helps,
Rex
