Purpose of Tags & Categories
The core purpose of the tags and categories is to help sort the content so the the user have a better flow of information on the blog/ site.
With defined categories, users can navigate on their own to the relevant information and Tags can help find the relevant content on the site.
Categories usually used for grouping of similar content in a broader sense whereas Tags are used to say aloud about the subject matter of the content.
For beginners, it is okay but knowledge has no end to it. Find more about the topic and also help me to learn more about the same, if you find more valuable information.

These basics help you understand the importance of Categories and Tags, as a beginner. this was one of the thing I needed a good grasp on to decide whether to build a website or a blog.
Thanks Joe for this info and reminding us to use our own skills to get even deeper into a subject we need to know about, especially when blogging. Tria
I liked your posts as well and your posts also helped me in getting more clarity to many areas of business.#Gratitude -- Joe
Thanks for the info. I have a complete guide and even that doesn't explain it this well. Is it ok if I don't worry about them at this stage. I only have very little info on my site. www.wealthyrep.com It doesn't look good on site to be uncategorized. Is it possible to make it not visible?
I don't know what to do with Meta and the other things under it on the side. I have seen the info about these somewhere in the training, but I can't remember everything.
Understand the concepts and ways to build a website first makes sense to me. Getting familiar about the subject is important. You can hold a bit and explore the subject, before actually building your site.
I checked out your site and basically what you have achieved here is that you owned the domain. Don't rush but try experimenting to get a handle on the subject matter first.
First focus on learning and experimenting.
Build as many site as you like afterwards, since you are premium member to this awesome WA Community.

Good points. Sometimes I struggle with tags and then always come back to what will help my visitors.

The one thing is I would say but...It would be very hard to learn without doing it and I am sure that Kyle has a very good reason to ask everybody to start building a website immediately. I trust Kyle's concept, otherwise I would not be here.
Sure with hands on practice, learning process speeds up but take it as a way to learn before launching your actual website.
I hope you can understand uniqueness of this initial learning phase.
With clear understanding of concepts and by becoming comfortable with actual practice, you can have much easier time building your sites accurately and in less time as well.
All the very best to your adventurous Journey - Joe
