I am not familiar with Travelify. You can name your pages as you wish, and your "home" page can be called anything you like. The word HOME can still show on the main menu bar, you will need to decide where to point it to.

Thanks for your thoughts. I feel a bit disappointed as I would like to find a good theme where I can have a shopping cart. It is interesting that I don't have any positive feedback about Travelify. Looks like I have to go back to the drawing board and try to find a theme i can stay with long term.

I would be happy with any suggestions.

you might want to change themes. There are themes out there which are not user friendly

Interesting that you say this. So far this is the most comprehensive theme I have found.

Check This: http://colorlib.com/wp/support/travelify/

Thanks Russ, I went through that page before and I couldn't find the solution there.

Hey Guys. I use Paypal to receive payments for my products (not affiliate). The problem is that most countries have different postage rates. In Australia the rates are much lowe

You need to set up your postage rates within your site's checkout, so that the shipping cost is added before they go through to PayPal to pay, not within PayPal itself.

All PayPal does is collect the fee you have asked for. You need to have a checkout facility set up on your site. I can't be more specific without knowing what you use for a checkout facility, if you do have one already, but I can help if you want to send me a message.

Thanks so much, I sent you message.

Have a look at this option it may help, go into paypal and type this in the search bar (What is Instant Update API and how can it help my business?) sorry I couldn't give you the url, wrong parametres in it.

Thanks Craig, I will try it. I need to find a solution to be able to charge different shipping rates for the same product. When I get an order from USA shipping cost too much to make it viable.
Cheers
Linda

Keyword, Niche and Market Research

Hello,

I don't understand what is the relevance between keywords and choosing a domain name. Plus what is the connection between niche, domain name and keywords.

Let

Wow, a lot of good information below!

Picking a niche, and a Domain Name that is relevant to your niche, and then building a list of keywords that are also relevant to your niche is the foundation to you business. It's important to take your time, and get this phase right.. What Trialynn says is spot on. Take your time you are building the foundation of your business.

Thank you,
I try to figure it out and I want to do it the right way.

Very good answers from Trialynn there.
Suggest 'self improvement' is too broad. It is a very crowded niche so would be harder to rank well for. Drill down to something more specific, using the keyword tool and/or jaaxy. NLP, Positive thinking, memory, particular authors, whatever.
Then, based on keyword research, choose a domain name. As Trialynn says, it isn't such a big thing to have keywords in the domain name but, having just tested a search for memory training, found 3-4 listings that did have this phrase in the name of a page, so seems good idea to name 2nd level pages according to the keyword phrase each page deals with.

Thanks Andy,

It is difficult as this is a not a widely known technique and I can't put it with something that is not. It is not NLP, not memory training, although by doing this the memory surprisingly improves. I really appreciate your comments. I am just trying to think outside of the square and I don't know how to go about it. But every thought is most helpful. I will put up the sales page soon and maybe that will give some more ideas. Maybe I am going the wrong way about it. But as you say Trialynn has some very good tips too. Thank you hips.

What T says is fully reflected in the training, so if you delve into that you will be able to put some more flesh on the very helpful notes that she has given you.

Follow things through and they eventually hang together to make a coherent whole.

Yes very good thoughts, thank you

I don't understand what is the relevance between keywords and choosing a domain name.

there was a time it was very relevant, that time has passed to some extent. You do not want a domain name that is "how to fish" and then talk about baby strollers simply because it does not help you brand yourself (except maybe as a bit wee off in the head)!
If you can get an easy to remember .com that will cover what you will be writing content about, it is good.

Plus what is the connection between niche, domain name and keywords.

As long as the domain name somewhat encompasses your niche, you are fine. Keywords, on the other hand, have everything to do with your niche. Say you are selling mushrooms, and your keywords are talking about alfalfa and horses. Google tries to match keyword from their definition of good content to the words typed in by a user. If the user is looking for mushrooms the chances of him typing in horses is so slim I do not think it exists.

What I am not getting mostly, that according to the training I suppose to have a website, but I can't have a website without a URL. Now how can I choose a good URL if I don't understand the whole niche, domain and keyword connection.

I hope I answered that above.

Not to mention about naming the web pages and putting content on them.

The pages are well named with a keyword or keyword mix
If your chosen website is AmericanCrops
your niche may be corn
Your pages would be names something like corn for popping, corn for animal consumption, corn for ......

What are you passionate about? Search out a URL that will encompass this, drill down to your niche, write excellent content and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I do hope this helps clear up some of the confusion!

Yes thank you that is very good. My niche is self improvement and not mushrooms or crops. But I try to make a comparison with mushrooms and self improvement. But yes I think that is definitely something I will read a few times. Thank you again.

I just noticed the rapidclearing site is no longer functional, so it is no longer relevant to use that as a comparison. The question still remains the same, although I was told that what the domain name is not so relevant.

Oh yes it is...I've clicked on it, and i is NICE site... no Splash page.

In short, I feel for you, and am understanding you. I share the same, I love self improvement. You need to focus on one thing at a time, and refine what you have to start with before moving onto the next project.

On Rapid Clearing you are missing two ingredients, to follow up and follow through... Firstly Create a splash page, two: examples:
http://freeorganicleads.com or
http://satellite-direct-review.freeorganicleads.com

This is a two-way traffic resource:-
1. You pay for ppc, or (what ever) to send to your Splash Page.
2. You get the prospects details. (to build your list).

By them watching a video on the Splash Page, or no video just telling them what to do... (Video is better) grips the emotions.
That way your domain is paid for if you have repeat business.

Does it have ring to it? I will come back to that later. Lets take the name:- self improvement e-book The title self improvement is a good keyword, with out question, but where does it rank, and how does it rank in the charts?

I did a check some two years back it was good then and should be better now? on this: I have built a WordPress, that is not completed called: www.whiteharvestbooks.com that is based on the same theme, and as a membership site. and a Splash page is to be put there or floating form. There still a lot to do... check it out!!

Now the word e-book! This sounds like just One e-book that you wish to promote? For One book and One domain should not need a WordPress site to do. One sales page would do the trick with rich content keywords and of course not forgetting the splash page to build your list.
Now, the question, does it have a ring to it? the answer to that question is No! it does not.
That is important that it helps the domain to be listed quicker with the rich keyword for that domain.

Example: selfimprovementebooks.com; dot net;.org. the most prominent for the search engines along with ,uk. follow up.
that title tells a lot, it is not just One e-book, but many e-books.

Have you wasted $10? yes, and no! it depends on how you manipulate it for Google to like. e-book? Selling a Library of books will not go down to well on points with e-book...e-books yes! who knows??
You are better off getting it right first time around... than wast $10.00! My opinion Dump it, revalue the keyword.
Suffix it with Archy, or something befitting with what your service is? ranking word find the top domain using selfimprovements.com and stick archy. so it looks like this selfimprovementsarchycom, or something with a ring to. Turn it around: archyselfimprovements.com. Do a self improment mebership site alllow members to down load for free One a month what ever??

Finally if you have bought the domain within the seven days, you can cancel it for another, or get you money back - FACT! that is why I said dump it.
I sincerely hope this does help you, in passing over my experiences to you. and anyone else!!
Remember, I know nothing, but God knows Everything!!

I personally like the domain name.

I believe you can transfer your website rapidlearning.com
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-transfer-a-wp-site-to-wa-hosting

If you don't like the domain name www.selfimprovementebook.com you can sell it on flippa.

Hope I was able to help.

Which domain do you like?

I have to close that site down, but it is ok, I have all material to start a new site. Plus I want to start it again doing it a bit differently. It is just getting some of the things clear and understand how they work together as I wrote in my discussion.

Thank you for your help, every bit adds up to more and more knowledge.

I agree with Trialynn, you shouldn't worry too much about your domain names. I think this might help!
