So, GOOGLE has your head in a BOGGLE about which type of account to setup?

Should you choose a

·Google Plus Profile for your business

    ·Google Business Local Page

    ·Google Plus Business Brand Page

Let’s first break down the differences between Google page types and by the time you finish reading you should have enough information to make a clear decision of what makes the most sense for your business or website.

You first should know that when you create a Gmail email account. Google will 99% opt you in and create a Google Plus Profile for you.

This is very similar to what is known as a Facebook profile, so it’s more catered to the personal you, not your business at this moment. It’s important to know that you MUST create a Google+ profile in order to create a business page or local business google page. Consider your Google Plus Profile is now the master or mother account. Any other page types you create will be considered child accounts. Once you create a business page, it will be linked to your Google+ profile page. You can delete and create many page types but you should NOT delete your Google Plus Profile. It’s the mother/master so anything you have linked to it will be deleted as well (including YouTube accounts you have linked) Everything GONE!

So let’s get into the other 2 page types.

Do you need a Google Plus local business page? The magic word here is “LOCAL”

So if your business has a physical location, like a store front, restaurant, law office etc. A Google Plus Local Business Page is the way to go for one major reason. I know you would love for new clients and customers to find you on Google Maps, Google Search, Google Earth and other Google apps.

Of course you would. Google Plus Local Business page is right for you.

If Local is your business type, head on over and create your Google+ local business page!

Do you need a Google Plus Brand page? The magic word here is “BRAND”

So if your business model will rely on brand recognition or you need to reach out to clients, customers or prospects you will be creating a Google Plus Brand Page.

Why not a Google Plus Local Business Page? You don’t have a physical location for customers to take immediate action and walk into your place of business. If you operate a home based business, it would not be a good idea to list your place of residence as your place of business. You want weirdo’s knocking at your door? I didn’t think so.

Now here is the good stuff, your Google Plus Brand Page, is home to Google and everyone knows Google is the king of search engines.

Why is this important?

Google will index both your Google+ profile information (meaning people can easily find you and your business) and the content you post will be index fast. A Google Plus Brand page does require you to be active so it’s definitely a good idea to post any updates to your Google Brand Page. This includes posting links to your recent blog post (if you have a blog) on your google brand page.No one likes to read a dormant Google Plus Brand Page, so stay active. The Google Love you will receive from the search engine is beneficial enough to keep you in business.

If BRANDING is your business type head on over and create your Google+ brand page!

So that’s about it, hopefully you’re on the right track now.

So what are my next steps?

I like to hear your thoughts on this Mind Boggling Googling Topic.

Thanks for the information, didn't know this before.

Wow! very informative post, I didn't know most of this. I'm gonna bookmark it for future reference. Thank you for sharing about this complicated subject, even though it doesn't seem so complicated the way you explained it, awesome post:)

Woah really informative post. I am definitely going to remember this when the time comes for me to actually deliberate it. You really helped me out a ton with this post. I would really love if you make your next post about adding banners to your site from your affiliates, I feel like you would do a spectacular job of explaining that to the people here at WA. You have some awesome writing skills :) Again, thanks for the marvelous post.

Thank you @floridajf
