Progress report: Facebook ad update
Hey guys!
So I decided to go ahead and test the waters of Facebook ads to see what I come up with.
I decided to go down this avenue because I live in a small country (the Bahamas) so there are only a limited amount of people who would see my content. On top of that, only a few people know of me and actually trust me but thats an even smaller bucket in a small pond. So I needed a way to drive more traffic towards my website and put my brand out there.
What I did was set up 6 different versions of an ad for facebook to automatically place them where they needed to be and I decided to pay $3 per day.
I started Dec 4, 2019 so I have been running the ad for almost a week and here are my results so far:
1. I spent $18 and ended up with 88 people liking my facebook page ( 5 of them were not invites)
2. Only one person sent me a message asking me about my services so far (its a tutoring website service)
3. The ads have reached 9,318 people but only 118 people clicked on the links to my website
4. I have no actual conversions yet.
5. I have 2 new subscribers to my website
6. I set my audience to The Bahamas and The United States but I am also noticing people that people from Ghana, Germany and interestingly enough, Japan are clicking onto my website. This tid bit of information will help me to see how I can retarget these particular groups of people.
I'm thinking of continuing the ad for another week or so to see what else I can come up with to improve my website and find a target audience outside the Bahamas. Originally, I had planned to run the ad for a month but I will see after next week's results. My only intention at this point is to get my name out there and figure out what I can improve upon to actually start converting organically (rather than having to spend money on ads all the time).
I'll update you guys in a week's time. See you soon!

Hi Christine!
I'm noticing that there are two popular pages that people visit, the home page and the blog page.
The majority of visitors only look at my home page and then they leave the website. There could be 2 reasons for this:
1. The homepage is not captivating enough to get their attention
2. I do note that a lot of the services are only available to those in the Bahamas on the home page so they either check out the blog or they leave.
The blog is meant for those outside of the Bahamas so if I were to target them I may have to create specific ads for each blog post until I can get ranked high enough in Google...
Or I may have to switch things up and keep my business locally and then complete another niche website online.
It depends on how things turn out.
