Need More Time? I Can Give You More Time.

I was going to sit on this one for a while as I'm looking to use it as one of my posts on the website but as the saying goes. "There's no time like the present" Most of you are probably more than aware of how precious your own time is but I thought I'd put a slightly different spin on it today. I can give you more time for free,"That's a bold and brazen statement" I hear you say,"How are you going to do that?" "Surely it's impossible." Maybe, maybe not.

I'm not going to get into the definitions or the vagaries of time, linear construct, seems to go slower, moves at a different speed round larger objects, blah blah blah. I'm talking about how we use the time that we are all given equally. That's right,we are all given the same amount of time to do with as we please.

365 days a year,7 days a week,24 hours a day,60 minutes an hour and so on. Basic, factual stuff. You and I and everyone else all have the same. So how come some of us manage to accomplish so much? You've heard the words in conversation. " I'd love to but I just don't seem to have the time." "I'll try to squeeze it in but I'm not sure I'll have the time" "Fingers crossed,if time's on my side" We make it sound like time is some ever changing variable, one day an hour is an hour, the next it's only 30 minutes. (Yes I know sometimes an hour can seem like two when we're doing something mundane or tedious but that's our perception that's changed, not time itself)

So how can I give you more time? There are many ways but as I know you value your time and don't want you to spend to much of it reading this.I'll give you just one that I hope will make a difference from the get go. In truth, once you try this I think you'll start to look at other areas in your life where you can gain more time....(Put a learning CD on in the car during your journeys, even if it's just on the way to work, music on the way home....how many hours of self-improvement time would you gain in a week)

So here we go and remember,we're all different, have very varying lives and this might not be for you,no argument there. It worked for me and if it works for just one more person then hey, they might invent a cure for the 'common cold' in the extra time they have.

I'll try to put it in a scenario that might resonate more easily. Let's assume you're working full-time,so Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day,40 hours a week. Maybe you get four weks a year holiday plus any extra days, bank holidays, national days etc. If your employer turned round one day and said..."I'd like you to have another two weeks off a year" Paid or unpaid, who cares, what could you do in those two weeks? Anyway, chances are you're thinking,'That's not going to happen' and you're probably right....so here's how you can make it happen for your self.

All you need is to free up 15 minutes a day for one year.....Let's do the math. 15 minutes times by 365 days equals 5475 minutes. So we divide that by 60 to give us hours, which totals 91.25. As per our example of working an eight hour day that gives us 11.4 work days...with our work week being a five day one that equates to over two, working weeks. Not bad for 15 minutes a day.

How you find your 15 minutes is up to you. I took mine in the morning, just set the alarm 15 minutes earlier (Now it's actually an hour...so that's nine working weeks, over two months, I recommend starting small though, an hour can be a bit of a shock to the system)

One last thing,if you think of this extra time as 'Your time' what could you do with it? Learn another language, play an instrument, pursue your hobby/passion,even look toward further learning. There are a myriad of online courses out there just waiting for you. Enjoy.

I do need to start getting up earlier. Fifteen minutes would be a start.

Yes. We all have the same amount of time, it truly is all about what you do with it. Thanks for sharing.

You're more than welcome, thank you for taking the time to read it.

It's truly a reality check on how time can be used, or in some cases wasted.
How just 15 minutes can make such a change...
