Aww, Snap Error Out Of Memory
Come on, who's not had one of those ? 'Aw, Snap! Something went wrong. Error Out of memory.' Or something worded slightly differently maybe.
If memory serves me well enough, that was the repeated message I was getting yesterday. Mr. G was having a few issues, or at least the browser was.
I was either getting one of those messages or the page I was on would just freeze.
Now, I had already done all of the usual suspects. Deleting the most recent 'extension' addition and 'cleaning' all possible areas. All to no avail.
It's fixed now but for an hour yesterday, I was making very little progress and every hour is crucial these days.
How did I cure this one ? Would you really like to know ? OK then, it may well be the case that this will solve any number of similar issues, or not.
Finding a solution online (when the pages are crashing like waves) was relatively easy. I just typed the error message into Google, as the chances are that someone will have already encountered this problem. Here's where I found my solution.

After I had cleared the browser's history/data and emptied the 'Cookie' jar, I had to reset the IPS and flush the DNS. Don't worry, the article explains it all very clearly.
Press and hold the 'Windows' key and then 'X'. This will bring up a menu.
Select ' Windows PowerShell (Admin)' A new window appears (A bit like the old Command Prompt window) with a flashing cursor, waiting for you to type something.
Type netsh winsock reset catlog and hit return.
Then type ipconfig /flushdns making sure you leave a space after the 'g'.
That's it, all done. All of my issues (which I somehow feel were my fault) disappeared.
I would imagine that this is something that those in the know, would recommend doing periodically.
As you can imagine, this little 'botheration' (Wow, it's actually a word) set me back somewhat. I have been playing 'catch-up' ever since. Still, no point moaning about it, just got to get on and do it, whatever 'it' is.
Well, I think I'm going to stop right here. I have just remembered. That reminds me of the 'Topic' advert, anyone recall that ?
"What has a hazelnut in every bite ?"
Till next time my friends, stay safe, healthy and happy.

Hello, Twack. I don't remember running into anything like this, but it's interesting, so I will save it somewhere just in case I need it. Thanks, and have a great day!
Hey Earl, thanks for popping in. Long may it remain the case for you. I will make a mental note to carry the procedure out on a more regular basis, to avoid futre issues, I hope.
Once again, those pesky techy gremlins pop up. Tried chrome and didn't like it, Firefox is my browser of choice, never had a problem with it. When you asked about hazelnut, my first thought was, a hazelnut of course. But me being me, I did a quick search and found Topic was/is a candy bar. Now I know.
Flushing your DNS is easily done as you say Twack, and there are those who would advise doing it on occasion. The screen freeze I dreaded the most was the old Blue Screen of Death. XP was a great platform, but had issues.
Greg
Well researched Greg, Topic it was indeed. There were alternate endings to that question but I am unable to print them.
The blue screen, such fond memories. A favourite after a hardware change more often than not.
I liked XP but then again, I also liked 98. (I even had a soft spot for Vista on occasion. Shhh)
Vista? Yuk. That was only marginally, nominally better than Windows Media. I think that lasted less than a year. 98 was cool but doomed. Seems it didn't play well with 1TB drives, memory utilization wasn't the greatest. 89 did have some cool screen savers that are lost to time now.
My first 'home pc' was in 1990, so I started out with 98'. Like I mentioned, my usage was very limited, so I never had much need to go exploring.
When I was overhauling notebooks, I did use a few of the Ubuntu type OS's, they were functional, but very quick.
Never did use Ubuntu except for business applications, and then it was highly modified for a specific purpose.

Hey,
Mars Topic has a hazelnut in every bite!! Lols
Good job your a whizz technically otherwise that much prized hour rightly would have extended into a saga that we would still be discussing presently heaven forbid!!
Anyway trust you got on your skate board with Mohican intact to retrieve whatever could be salvaged from that precious time spent!!
Glad its all sorted!!
Cadbury's had a hazelnut ad if I remember correctly lols!! A better sounding catchier tune....Nutz oh hazelnutz!! Uhh! Cadburys take them and they cover them in chocolate!! ha ha

That made me laugh, I haven't thought about that jingle for ever. Back to a time when ads were ads and products were generally bigger.
Almost caught up, but I did mow the rear lawn, so I get special dispensation for that.
I have a late pick up tonight, so I'll squeeze an extra hour out of the evening.
Have a good one.
Roger that!! you too.....
