2 Years, 2 Cheers, 2 Tears.

Good afternoon everyone (it's the afternoon where I am) unbelievably, I have just had the notification come through to say that I have been here for two years, I even have the little badge to prove it, on my profile.

Where does the time go? Actually, before anymore, I have to say that my milestone has been obliterated today and a couple of days ago by both Denis (@DBlanchard) and Jessica (@Swangirl) who have reached the monumental tenure of five years apiece.

So, back to me, two years and I have to say "It's been a blast", it really has. I had no idea what I was getting into when I joined as a free starter, all I knew was that it was an opportunity to learn something new.

Two things I wasn't prepared for, were the community and the community, so good I named them twice. Seriously though, you are unique.

Apart from the general 'Paying it Forward' underlying theme that courses through the interwoven web we are part of, there is an incredible feeling of inclusion and camaraderie.

It's true, there is an undeniable sense of wanting each other to succeed. On top of that, for the 'would be' writers, there is no warmer audience to ply your trade in front of, especially when you are a neophyte.

Neophyte is a cool word, one of the synonyms, unbelievably, in my honest opinion, is abecedarian, which I hadn't come across before. You should also know that it's pronounced
'ey-bee-see-dair-ee-uhn' which is pretty bizarre.

After the numerous posts that have been flying around regarding articles being indexed, or not, as the case may be, two of mine had Google's blessing yesterday. Except on some rare occasions, they all get indexed, so don't sweat it.

If that wasn't enough to be going on with, today I had a referral, which was nice.

BBC Radio 2 are having three days of themed playlists that encompass everything musical theatre, or musicals' to you and me. Now, I will admit that I am not the biggest fan of that particular genre, too many forced lyrics and singing for the sake of singing.

That said, I can appreciate, big style, some of the colossal productions that have graced the stage over the years. So, this morning, having heard Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson banging out 'I Know Him So Well' from 'Chess', I was reminded of something.

Elaine Paige has one of those laughs that transcends funny, no words can describe it so I have added a link, so that you may watch at your leisure, should you wish, of course.

Am I right in thinking we never used to be able to add videos to our posts, or is it just that I have never used the 'Share' link before? Either way, it's there at the bottom of the post.

Without a decent segue and for those who have managed to read to the end, I come to the '2 Tears' section.

My current membership comes to a close on the 25th February and I won't be renewing it this time around, not unless my numbers come up, but seeing as I don't have any, the chances are less than slim.

As much as we like to think of the annual renewal amount as an out and out bargain, which it is considering all that we get, I can no longer warrant, or afford the cost.

Due to a change in direction, I find that I am only using the platform for hosting and occasional posts and as much as I enjoy posting and your company, I am not in a position to justify spending that kind of lump sum at the moment.

Like I said at the beginning, it's been a blast, and without you, I would have never had the confidence to explore writing.

That's the truth of it, you have accepted my somewhat quirky prose and allowed me to really dig down into something I never truly embraced before now, so, I thank you for that.

I have made some great friends along the way, had some laughs and I hope that we'll stay connected, or connect, outside of here.

There we have it, short and sweet, enjoy the rest of your day.

Man Twack, how do I stay in touch with you? Can you send me a PM?
I congratulate you for your growth here, and the halls of WA wiggle as we giggle as we think about how you brightened, and brighten our lives with something you imparted into our hearts!

I know that the heart thing you gave to me is an ongoing and valuable treasure. More than a childlike sense of wonder with the reassurance that with Twack in the lead things will work out, or we will get a do over again until successful.
You are a wonderful friend Twack, and an inspirer via storytelling, and telling your life story.
Where are you headed now friend?

Your friend, Suzay

Thank you Suzay, your comment means a great deal to me. I will certainly be PM'ing you, how could I not?
It has been my honour to write here and you above many have made it all worthwhile. You have a unique perspective on life and a sense of humour to match.
If I do put together a compilation of posts I will have to create two, one for the posts and one just for your replies.
I shall continue to write but the focus will be on my blog site primarily, followed by more regular input on other platforms.
As I wrote above, it's been a blast and I wouldn't trade my time here for anything.

I will be sorry to see you leave my friend. You do have a way with words that makes for pleasurable reading.

I understand your reasons and indeed sympathize. If it were not for running an eCommerce site with my business partner, I would also be considering the numbers and the cost.

Having benefited from your prose for the last 2 years I can honestly say that you do have a skillful writing style with a good flow and easy to read. As someone who reads constantly (every moment I get), I have a layman's point of view and it is my own, but I read enough to think it is worthwhile sharing.

Take the posts that you have made here and compile a book of musings. If only for the exercise.

I wish you the best.

I hope to see you back in the future.

Alex

I love that idea, Alex!
To compile a book of musings.

I will definitely subscribe to that. 🙂

Cassi

Thank you, Alex, you are very generous and I am indebted to you for your kind words.
It wasn't an easy or enjoyable decision to make but I had to be pragmatic and whatever way I looked at it, the justification just wasn't there.
I do like the idea of a compilation, it is something I have thought about but only for a brief second, maybe I should look at it longer.

Yes, sir, you should look at the compilation. It cannot hurt - the words are already written and many here have enjoyed them.

You could even include some excerpts of comments in the musings as they are already online and in the public domain. It would add colour.

Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best.

Alex

Good thoughts, thank you again, Alex.

It saddens me to know that I won't see any more of your wisdom expounded here in the halls of WA. But, alas, we are connected outside of WA and I still look forward to the daily dose of inspirational words that will continue to grace my day on Facebook.

I do understand the reasoning. It isn't farewell but see you outside... 😊

I wish you the best!!
Bob

Thank you Bob and yes, we will definitely stay in touch, I should be more present on some of the social media platforms as and when time allows.
I've enjoyed our interactions here and admire your honest posts that cut through the smokescreen that some put out.

Just trying to be real!! 🤣🤣🤣

It's a quality not all possess.

👍👍 so true

Howzit Twack,
I have just recently come in contact with you and I have read a few of you Blogs, and was looking for many more, as was many other people.
You have a presence within this community, which I think is Loved and respected, you only have to read the comments to realise this. I can only say I hope you make it back, if not I wish you all the Best for the Future.
As we Scots say "we're no awa tae bide awa"

Cheers
Murray

'We are not away to stay away' I like that, thank you, Murray, and thank you for the kind words.
I think the back catalogue of posts might keep most occupied for a while and I believe they will still be accessible after I have left the building.
As Mr Connery famously said, never say never, though I don't see it happening anytime soon.
Hopefully, those that want to (including myself), will connect or stay connected elsewhere.

Twack, no!
Not you too?!?!?

Gosh and so close on the heels of losing Rami. 🙂
My inner circle is closing in although I know that others may join in time.
Letting people into that space does not come easily.

Congratulations on your 2-year milestone.
You have shared so much in that time and achieved a lot at WA.

Thank you!
Cassi

In truth, I thought my membership wasn't due until at least May, so it was a bit of a shock😲.
I shall be there in spirit and will definitely be staying in touch.

You are the inspiration for so many and continue to set higher and yet even higher standards, for others to reach for.

Thank you, Cassi, for your support and kind words.

You are very welcome, Twack.

Please, let's stay in touch.
Cassi

Absolutely we should. I have been going through various members 'follow me on' section and contacting where possible but I'll also PM you.

Excellent, Twack!

I look forward to keeping in touch.
Cassi

Likewise😁
