My Pinterest Confused

I have just started a few Pin boards on Pinterest. I found it easy to pin from my website pages using my social media button. I now want to pin some images from other websites that I visit. My problem lies in the training I finished recently. Kyle states in the video there is a "+" next to your name at the top right of the page. I haven't found that one yet. I did find a "+" near the bottom right side of the page so I clicked on it and this is what I got:

I thought okay maybe this would be nice. But, then I saw this popup as I was leaving my account:

Notice it says "Read and change all your data on the websites you visit". Well, that stopped me in my tracks. What does that mean? I don't want this button to be able to change my data.

Are 8.7 million users wrong or am I reading something into this that isn't there? Any explanations would be appreciated. I just want to be able to type in a "url" and pin it.

So, if someone knows where that can be accessed on my page that would be helpful.

Thanks, Rick

You can pin images manually from other website but just know that the images you pin will link back to the website they reside on. If that is not a problem, then it is very simple to manually pin an image from another website.

I want to have Pinterest boards like yours!!!! Of course that takes a lot of time and you have more than one website to draw from.

1. Are you suggesting that we stick to the other boards or our own website to draw pins from?
2. Did you get your pins from other websites and if so, don't they link back to those sites.
3. When I click on one of your boards, pick an image, click it and see your name at the bottom and click on that it takes me back to your boards.
4. Is pinning from my own site the only way to link back to my site?
5. I did go through your tutorial but I am obviously still confused.

You did do a great job on your boards and I know you must have worked very hard to get them that way. I am willing to put in the time, I just need the know-how.
Thanks Robert.

I will be doing more training on this in the future but see my answers below.

1) You can draw pins from wherever you like. As for my WA website I draw pins from my own website and from the WA blogs of others by way of my affiliate link to those blogs. - If an image is not available then I pin a relevant image from my computer and then attach my affiliate link at the end of the text I type for each pin.

2) Yes I have and yes they do.

3) Yes that is by design. However under each image, lower left, it will either say "Pinned by..." "Pinned from..." "Found on..." Most of these you can click and it will link back to where those pins came from.

4) No. You can pin an image you have on your computer and then attach your website link to it by adding it to the end of the text you type up for that pin.

5) My tutorial did not really show you how to pin but was generally meant to tell you what you should pin and what to do with your boards to increase website traffic.

Thanks, Robert. The more I look into Pinterest the more I am understanding. I did find where I can pin the individual "url" images.
