My Site Indexed Today & I Learned A Lesson Too!

I indexed today after about six days and I truly belive it could have been sooner if I had done one thing differently.
Initially, I used the free WA doman to set up my site. The website was published and online BEFORE I purchased a domain at Godaddy. After I purchased my Godaddy domain, I tried to use it on my WA site. I updated nameservers and waited three days before I decided to create a second WA website using my Godaddy domain from the onset. This made me waste valuable time copying the info from my WA domain website to my Godaddy domain website.
After I completed this, It took an additional three days for my new site with the Godaddy domain to index, of which I'm very happy about.
That being said, my advise to you is if at all possible, use your domain or purchase a domain from WA to use for your intial website setup unless you're practicing or unsure what direction you want to go in. It can save you time and a lot of grief!

I see lots of people buy their domain names from GoDaddy, not sure why when you can do it here and just move your .siterubix to the new domain. It’s really simple to do and happens pretty much straight away.

I can't speak for those you mentioned, but I've been buying domains from Godaddy for decades. Old habits are hard to break. And couple that with a past experience where I let another company have control of my domain and when I was ready to leave, I had to go through he** to get them to release it back to me.
Not saying WA would ever to that, I'm just giving you some background on why I purchased from Goddaddy. This could change though. Godaddy aren't saints themselves, but at least I don't have to worry about possession of my domains as long as I keep them current.
I suppose because I didn’t know any better I just followed the training and bought mine here lol. The domain is registered to you when you do, so I don’t think it would be any problem to take it with you if you leave, not that I’m planning on leaving any time soon lol.

I think it would be best to purchase a DN
I feel that it would reach google quicker
Like I stated in my article, I waited for days for my purchased domain to propagate and it had never taken that long before. (Of course this was before I joined WA) That being said, this will now be my personal standard going forward here at WA.

Hi Terry- Yes having everything here with WA is the way to go as no time is wasted trying to get transferred
