There really is no set training available to help you with customization of your WordPress theme, mainly because every theme is different. But when it comes to the process of beginning the customization of your WordPress theme you need to do the following.

While in your WordPress Dashboard in the left side menu, you will want to find where it says Appearance and point to it. A side menu will appear, as seen above, and you will want to click on “Customize” that will bring up the theme customization menu. NOTE: Every theme will look slightly different because each theme has different options, see below.

As I said above, each theme has different options and as you can see in the above image this particular theme has a “More Theme Options” green button. This gives you more ways to further customize your theme which I will briefly explain on the next page.

NEXT UP = Further customizing your theme

I recently added a test site as per some members suggestions. It has been really helpful. I'm currently in the process of trying to rearrange my menu and I am doing it on my test site first just to make sure there won't be any glitches when i make the changes on my real site.

Thanks for the heads up on the plugins. I'm pretty sure I have them all activated on my test site. I will deactivate those today.

You are welcome Tanya. There is no reason to have them activated because you sure do not want the website to be indexed into Google.

A test website is a great asset to use in making sure things look right and work right before sending something live.

I checked my test site and those plugins weren't activated. But they are in my first siterubix site that I transferred to my own domain. I was using that as a test site at first, but then I ended up creating a site entirely for testing. I am going to disable the plugins on that site now.

Good. All strictly test sites should not have the All-in-One SEO activity.

I noticed I had checked all of the boxes so that search engines wouldn't follow, but now I have deleted it completely.
