There are some themes that have customizations that go beyond the standard WordPress customize options. For example in the image below for the Catch Evolution theme, you can make further changes to the theme by changing how the slider images work and how the menu works. You can also add social media icons as well as a favicon, saving you the need of adding plugins.

By having a test Site Rubix website you can try all of these things out without having to make any changes to your live website. This was how I came to choose the theme for my most recent website I am creating on the free cancer cure we each have inside of us. It is a theme with slider images in the header and after doing some testing I decided to use it.

Now moving forward with my new website, every new visual change I may want to make, I can first test out on my test Site Rubix website first. I also use my test website when helping the WA community with theme related problems. I can just install any theme so that I can get a visual representation to better help the member with the problem.

I recently added a test site as per some members suggestions. It has been really helpful. I'm currently in the process of trying to rearrange my menu and I am doing it on my test site first just to make sure there won't be any glitches when i make the changes on my real site.

Thanks for the heads up on the plugins. I'm pretty sure I have them all activated on my test site. I will deactivate those today.

You are welcome Tanya. There is no reason to have them activated because you sure do not want the website to be indexed into Google.

A test website is a great asset to use in making sure things look right and work right before sending something live.

I checked my test site and those plugins weren't activated. But they are in my first siterubix site that I transferred to my own domain. I was using that as a test site at first, but then I ended up creating a site entirely for testing. I am going to disable the plugins on that site now.

Good. All strictly test sites should not have the All-in-One SEO activity.

I noticed I had checked all of the boxes so that search engines wouldn't follow, but now I have deleted it completely.
