OK. Now, let’s see the actual steps on how to install WordPress on WAMP …
The next obvious question is this: what is WAMP?
WAMP is a compilation of Apache web server, PHP and MySQL bundled for Windows computers. Needless to say, it’s not the only local server environment for Windows, but this is what I recommend, because it’s free, reliable and easy to use.
As you can guess, the very first thing we need to do, is to download the latest WAMP version from their official website. Scroll down a bit to the download section and select the correct version:
You might be redirected to another page, but eventually you’ll have the very same two options: Windows 64-bit and Windows 32-bit. If you are unsure, select the 32-bit version because it will also work on 64-bit versions of Windows.
Launch the installation and follow the on-screen instructions. Nothing special here, it’a a usual installation process, but at a certain point you’ll have to choose the default web browser that will be associated with WAMP:

... something that i asked about and discussed in one of my early salad WA blog days here -- when are 'we live' on the net?! ...
.. yes, agree & quite correct, we need to have practice runs on a 'dummy site' -- that is part of learning & practice makes perfect...
... Jay mentions this occasionally in some of his trainings as well -- 'sandbox' he calls it, however, it's on a siterubix, i think and that is still 'live' isn't it? ..
... anyway, your training here is mind-boggling for me -- would you like to come over and install in it -- i work on Windows 10 and that drives me crazy! ..
... frankly, Windows XP was the best platform ever -- too bad they stopped supporting it ... so my wee rant for the day! ...
... thanks kindly for developing & sharing this training today,
... all the best, cheerio ... 😊
