Auditing Your Local Search Ranking
- Clear your browser cache and history.
- Launch a private browser window and go to Bing.com or Google.com.
- Search for your city and industry. Did you see your business appear in search results? If yes, were you showing up near the top, or could you only find your business after clicking on “View more” and scrolling to the bottom?
- Search for the name, location or phone number of your business.
- Sort for your business through the local directories. Affirm, correct and complete your name, address, phone number and URL (NAPU). Some directories offer paid services while others may be used for free.
But note, customers love interacting with enterprises leveraging an integrated marketing technique. In as much as you’ve tried working on building your local search presence, you must get more client reviews, build an ideal social media presence and run paid advertising to reach out to more prospects.
This integrated technique will help position your local business well on the map and enable users to find you and choose your listing.
