What is Bounce Rate in SEO?
Probably a more important question to ask is, why is it so important?
Your bounce rate shows you the percentage of visitors who leave your website without clicking on another article. It’s important that visitors stay longer and change pages for Google to notice and rate your content higher. So, you want to get your bounce rate down as low as possible, preferably to between 50 – 60%
Most websites start at around 80-90% and by adding quality content with internal links you will lower this slowly to 50%, that is your goal.
This is where you find Your Bounce Rate in Google Analytics:
In 2019, Google changed the way its algorithm worked to recognize the user experience(UX) on your website. What was noticed was that when the website bounce rate went down to 50% then publishers were providing visitors with quality content that they interacted with.
When a visitor interacts with your website by visiting additional pages, then they haven’t bounced off your website. Google sees this as a positive sign and takes into account your bounce rate as well as Keywords, site loading speed, etc. to establish rank.
So how do you encourage people to stay and click on links to other internal pages?
