  • Optimize the Content on Your Homepage

The content SEO process is the same as how you do SEO on your blogs. Your homepage SEO should be stronger than your blog posts.

Your homepage is your landing page. Search engines should understand the context of this page.

Images of the products you sell are required for e-commerce landing pages. You should also use text to describe the products and services you offer if you have a business or corporate website. Blogs should display excerpts from your most recent posts.

Use keywords in the correct way, as always. You should use long-tail keywords to match the search terms of your target audience. Add captions to describe images on your homepage and include keywords.

5. Improve Your Site’s Loading Speed

Loading speed is the last piece of advice that I can offer you. This is something I can't stress enough: Google places your URL at the top of SERPs because it wants to evaluate your performance.

Google will consider this if someone clicks the link. It will automatically detect that users aren't getting the best experience if your site speed is slow.

Users bounce when they experience slow load times. This means that the user leaves your homepage and does not visit other pages. Google will not present your URL if this happens within a short timeframe, such as less than five seconds

Google strives to be the best search engine (and it is). It places a lot of emphasis on the user experience because of this goal. It doesn't want its users to be redirected to slow websites.

Google Page Speed Insights will allow you to see how Google views your homepage in terms of loading speed. You can then enter your URL to see the performance of your landing page.

Read the entire training. Page loading for one's home page is critical.

My home page is quite simple, with one small logo image repeating twice. I have another image used once. It is also a small image.

Then, I have a divider image which is quite small repeating 27 times.

All images are .png images and should not load slowly.

I clean my the caches of my various browsers frequently, and it appears my home page loads quickly, both on mobile devices and on my laptop.

Google has given me a 98 rating for my .com site on a desktop device, but only a 54 rating on a mobile device.

I have been through this before and discovered the only fix i could come up with would be the same information on a .net domain for mobile use.

Twice the work, but I get good loading time on a mobile device for the .net domain, which came in at 82. That is not far from their best rating bracket of 90 - 100

Conclusion: I am happy with the Google analysis for the .com domain, which I hope most visitors will view and use on a desktop or laptop. And I am also content with the Google analysis for the .net domain, which I hope most visitors will view and use on a mobile device.

Time will tell. Thanks for the insights.
