Setting Up Your Hosting

There are many sites that offer cheap, dependable hosting. HostGator is the first one to pop into my head, but there are others. You typically pay a monthly fee to keep your sites hosted there. BUT, since you are already a member here, why not use the FREE WA hosting here?

Actually, some people have complained before and said that the WA hosting is down fairly often. This is what I use though, and haven't had many problems with it. I like it, but I guess the main reason I use it is because it is free (and I'm cheap, lol).

Setting up the hosting here is not that complicated. First you need to click on the WA Hosting tab at the top of this site. Then a new menu will pop up where you can sign in to your hosting account. If it is the first time you are using this, you will need to set up an account. I just used my screen name here and a password.

Once you do that, log in and go to the Plesk dashboard. There are a lot of confusing options here, but you don't need to worry, since you don't need to use them all at the moment.

What to do next:

-First you need to need to click on the "Create A Domain" link.

-Put in the domain name you just registered for

-You can set up the limits of your site however you want

-Next, if you want to use the free WA hosting, click on "Phsyical Hosting"

-Now you will have to set up your FTP account. Make it whatever you want and remember it.

-Click finish and you are done for now!

Next....pointing your domain name to your hosting

Hi Whistler,

For someone who is new to the internet marketing industry you seem to be quickly adapting to using the tools of the trade. You did a good job of explaining to a newbie how to get started making a website and getting it up and running. Keep up the good work.
