How to Change Your Tagline in WordPress
Often you will see so many websites carrying “just another WordPress site”. This is because many of us do not know that it can be removed. Before I conclude on this training, I will like to show you how to go about this very simple task.
This simple statement is referred to as tagline, they are meant to be a description or I call it an overall summary of your website in very few words. The Just another WordPress site is a default statement from WordPress and many themes out there will display it.
To change this, let us head on to your WordPress settings. Click on Settings on your dashboard and then click on general
Here you can change it to something else that best describes your website. You don't need to have a tagline. Websites that their names are niche related can afford not to use taglines. But websites whose names are not niche related will need them. This is to make identification and description easier
When it comes to categories and tags, they are great at creating a superuser experience. They make content organization easier and also make them easy to follow. As such taking some time to create categories and assigning your post to them will be a great idea.
If you have placed them and have experience with creating them, we will appreciate you using the comment box to share your experience
Thanks for another great post. Something Someone brought up the question of categories and tags during Jay's training on Friday. Jay said it is better to only use categories and not bother with tags anymore. That in his opinion tags were something of the past. I guess visitors to sites are not using tags
Best regards
Andy
