Providing Feedback

When providing feedback, you will want to share that information here at Wealthy Affiliate on the thread where it was asked for and not directly on the site.

Visiting The Site

First thing is first when it comes to providing quality feedback and that is to visit the site and review the area in question. To make sure you are accurate, you need to review the whole area. Take notes if you have too, or keep the site up in another window or tab so that you can reference it as you provide your thoughts.

Consider Where They Are In The Training

In some of the other sharing threads here I often will see people leave feedback about things that is obvious that have not been covered by where that person is in the training. For example, many people will bring up images to people who are still on the first levels of training and have yet to reach that specific part.

Providing Constructive Criticism

The next step is to compose your feedback in a constructive way, or as I like to call it -- The Constructive Criticism Sandwich. The basic principle is to give your feedback beginning and ending as positives and putting the things that need improvement in the middle.

By using the sandwich method, it lessons the blow of things that need to be addressed or fixed. Even when using this method, you should still make sure that you be polite in the way that you state everything. Remember that we are addressing something that people are proud of and you should put yourself in their shoes when you go through this process.

Keeping It Constructive

Lastly, if you can not find anything positive to say, then don't say anything at all. In the time I have been here I have never come across a site that I could not say something positive about.

For a more detailed look at giving feedback I would recommend that you check out this blog: Ideas For Giving Feedback.

Really great - as usual! You are saying things that should just be common sense, but it seems we all need to be reminded of what that is. Great practical tips too. Clear and easy to read! Like you just said yourself - if there are just long paragraphs - I can't be bothered to read it.

After reading this I went straight to my site and turned off the "comment authors must sign in" box to promote more spontaneous discussion! Thanks for the tips!

That honestly is one of my personal pet peeves when I visit sites and I have always been that way even before coming to WA. Thanks for stopping by and glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you for the training. It is very eye opening and informative. I'll use this new knowledge when interacting with other WAers.

Great training! There seems to be a lot of confusion about the proper etiquette when swapping comments. It only takes a few extra seconds on everyone's part to really help each other enormously.
