Blogs started as informal ways of recording information, like online diaries. They have developed a lot more nowadays and some blogs are very informative and technical in the way they write things.
In the main though blogs are a way to communicate to the general public, to inform them but without intimidating them. The language that is used needs to be kept simple but interesting.
This makes them different from a report or a technical description of a product. In fact many bloggers have found their niche in providing simpler descriptions and translating technical language, so that everyday people can understand it.
One well known way to communicate to a large population is to use a more casual tone to your writing - which is known as conversational tone.
What is a conversational tone?
Conversational tone is a writing style that is based more on the way we speak, rather than how we might normally read.
This can be a very difficult skill to learn because it is slightly different to speaking, where you have the advantage of using expressions and body language to make your point. (it is also one of the reasons why people like video content because it can communicate at many different levels).
Some of the normal rules of writing don’t always apply in conversational tone such as
- You can start sentences with And or But, because we do that in speech.
- Or you can end a sentence with a preposition - example - we create websites that you’ll be proud of.
In general the main rules of writing are followed but just not as strictly. The aim of the writing style is to make readers feel relaxed and to show that you are one of them. If they can relate to you then they will trust what you have to say - it’s a marketing ploy but it works.
But I have to use my keywords ….

I really like your training, and am not trying to offend. The first car my Dad repaired was a 1912 Model T Ford and he did that back in 1914. Since I was born, I was raised with the history of vehicles and the companies that built them. I have never heard an off-roader refer to other vehicles as Jeeps. It has a very interesting history.
For the image tags, you are very correct about Google liking image tags. They also like the key word being used in at least one image tag.
