There are two other example to discuss here:

- Subscribed to your email training course

- Want information regarding your affiliate program

An autoresponder is an ideal way to create a relationship with possible customers. You can create a free training course in whatever niche you are involved in and set up the lessons in email format to go out over time, maybe once a week or every three days. It is a way to build a list of interested prospects. Once you have them on your list, even though the lessons are all pre-set to go out from your autoresponder, you can still email them other related offers. These offers can be sent out to your entire list anytime you want.

In this case your first message again should be a thank you for subscribing and welcome. Depending how you want to do it, you could advise them that they will start receiving their first training lesson the next day and once a week after that. It is up to you.

In the last example, they are requesting information regarding your affiliate program or other business program that you are promoting. They have seen your ad somewhere, gone to the page where you have the sign up form and want more information. This is great because they are an interested prospect and that is the type of individual you want on our list.

It is important here not to scare them away with your first message. I have been working online in the home business niche for over twenty years now and I have been scared away a lot. I have seen messages that are two pages long but all one paragraph. Messages that have no formatting at all, just long uneven lines of text, others that are just text copied from a sales site and lastly, emails that no one bothered to check the spelling and grammar.

Be professional and don't send out garbage. Your success depends on it. I know you are probably in a hurry to make some money, but do it right the first time. Every prospect that requests your information could mean future income to you.

So again, make sure you start the relationship right with the new prospect. Thank them, welcome them, briefly outline some of the highlights of your business offer and send them to your sales page. Don't try to hard sell them in the first message, let your sales page do it not your autoresponder message.

In this example, you can set up a follow up message to see if they have specific questions after reviewing your web page. Then you can set up more follow ups to highlight individual advantages of your business offer in each follow up and maybe offer a bonus to them for signing up.

All of the marketing experts over the years have indicated that it takes 6 or 7 follow ups to get a sale or sign up. And the advantage of an autoresponder is that it can be all done automatically.

In the next lesson I have a couple of final tips for you.
