First look at spelling, grammar and content:

When you first look through the site, are you struck by any grammar or spelling mistakes? If you notice a few, there is no harm in pointing them out.

If there are quite a lot, it is up to your discretion whether to point it out in your website review or send the person a private message about it. Sometimes it is obvious that the website owner is not a native English speaker. Other times, it may be carelessness. Either way, you can always suggest proof reading it again (reading it out loud is an easier way to catch your own mistakes) or have someone else proof read it. Of course there is always spell check which may catch many mistakes, but not all.

What do you think about the content? Is there a flow? Is it thorough? Do the author's points come across easily? If so tell his/her that. If not tell his/her that as well. Any author will want to know if his/her writing is clear or not. :)

Cheers for this, you really covered absolutely everything. There have been some sites that have been so good, I found it hard to review but you have showed me other aspects to look out for.

Thanks for the great training. I only just discovered the actual Feedback area of the SiteRubix tab on the left (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback) and I love how you have to give TWO reviews, before you can even ask for reviews on your site. I try to review at least 3-4 sites every day as part of my online training. Sarah

Thanks for posting. I didn't know feedback should be 250 words minimum and never heard of favicon.

Glad you learned something new!
I hadn't heard of a favicon until a couple of weeks ago when someone giving feedback gave me the suggestion. :)

Thanks for your training. Good site is not much to go on when someone reviews your site. Give great information and you will get great information.

I agree totally, Chris. I get frustrated when I get feedback like that (Good Site). I'm asking for feedback because I really need someone else's view on my work! :)

Awesome post! I thought that it really helped me kind of understand what I should be looking for when I am critiquing another person's website. And, yes! Grammar and Misspellings are always something that I find on many users' websites. Your really did a good job of pointing out the small things that could really make huge differences to people's sites. This was definitely a favorite blog post of mine. I definitely made sure to favorite this post as it contained some very eclectic information. I hope other commentators get a chance to see this post, it will really open their eyes and make them think differently about how they critique other people's work here on WA. Fantastic Job :)

Glad you like it.
It's true, they are all small things. But put together, they make a BIG difference!
