What about Comments and a Favicon?

Check out the comments on some of the posts/pages. Are the comments being answered? Is the website owner correcting grammar and spelling before publishing them? These make a big difference in terms of the trust of readers as well as in Google's eyes.

Has the website owner changed the author from "admin" to the name he/she is using on the website? It really makes the site look more professional and gives the readers more trust. If not, here is Kyle's tutorial on how to do that:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/building-your-own-traffic-producing-website/making-face-as-a-real-person

Is the website owner moderating the comments? Are there comments that don't really give any value to the site? If so, give your opinion.

Is the website owner using a favicon? (A favicon is a small image or logo displayed in the address bar of the web browser.) This is another thing that helps make the website look more professional. Here is a tutorial by Marion if needed:

Personally, I used a free WordPress plugin called PhpSword Favicon Manager to make my own favicon. The process was pretty straight forward.

Now onto usability....

Cheers for this, you really covered absolutely everything. There have been some sites that have been so good, I found it hard to review but you have showed me other aspects to look out for.

Thanks for the great training. I only just discovered the actual Feedback area of the SiteRubix tab on the left (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/website-feedback) and I love how you have to give TWO reviews, before you can even ask for reviews on your site. I try to review at least 3-4 sites every day as part of my online training. Sarah

Thanks for posting. I didn't know feedback should be 250 words minimum and never heard of favicon.

Glad you learned something new!
I hadn't heard of a favicon until a couple of weeks ago when someone giving feedback gave me the suggestion. :)

Thanks for your training. Good site is not much to go on when someone reviews your site. Give great information and you will get great information.

I agree totally, Chris. I get frustrated when I get feedback like that (Good Site). I'm asking for feedback because I really need someone else's view on my work! :)

Awesome post! I thought that it really helped me kind of understand what I should be looking for when I am critiquing another person's website. And, yes! Grammar and Misspellings are always something that I find on many users' websites. Your really did a good job of pointing out the small things that could really make huge differences to people's sites. This was definitely a favorite blog post of mine. I definitely made sure to favorite this post as it contained some very eclectic information. I hope other commentators get a chance to see this post, it will really open their eyes and make them think differently about how they critique other people's work here on WA. Fantastic Job :)

It's true, they are all small things. But put together, they make a BIG difference!
