Have you heard it before? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to make this work? Do you know what you are committing to when you say yes to that? Will you go a year with no profit from this? Two years? However long it takes?
I have a good example that will define my point well if you will allow me some leeway.
When I quit smoking it was a ten year ordeal. I kept quitting and starting back up. One day I realized why. It was incredibly frustrating to want to quit but not be successful and have no clue what was wrong. But as I said it did hit me one day:
I wasn’t willing to face all the annoyances, naysayers, roadblocks, and the cigarette ads on the side of the road, on television, in magazines.
Yes back then ads were everywhere, we don’t see so many today.
There were going to be temptations and I hadn’t counted on most of them. It was as if I thought in the back of my mind that everyone would accommodate my goal.
That's not how life works its it? The temptations and distractions were everywhere. There were some that surprised me. There were people I called friend who would smoke right in front of me knowing what I was going through.
My own family members didn’t stop asking me if I wanted one. They lit up right in front of me. The nerve!
You never know when the temptation will be right in front of you and if you aren’t in the right mind set [all of the time] you may fail as I did time and time again. One night I went to bed and decided to wake up with this mindset and keep it 24/7 and it worked like a dream.
That sounds corny and it is an old saying, but you know what? Old sayings are old because they have meaning. They fit, or they work. The next morning after gaining and committing to that mindset I woke and went outside to see my wife lighting up at the car waiting for me to go to work.
I was fine, I was prepared and I have never touched another cigarette since I went to bed with that plan.
It’s the same in business. There will be those days where it just seems nothing is working and everyone is against you. You think about your old job or career. Or maybe you hear about someone else’s successful business so you think about doing that instead of continuing with the one you have.
It is easy to jump ship when you are convinced it’s already sinking.
So step one is your assignment to make that decision: “Am I willing to do whatever it takes to make my online business work? Whatever it takes as long as it takes.”
I truly believe if we get that mindset and keep it 24/7 our businesses will work. We will reach our goals and ride off into the sunset.
Can you do it? Are you with me? I have it. I know it. It is in my heart and soul. It has given my life purpose. No one will ever take it from me.
