So ...

Upon activation, go to Dashboard => Updates Options to access the plugin configuration page:

As you can see, the configuration page contains five different tabs.

The "Dashboard" tab will allow you to quickly turn on/off updates for Wordpress core files, plugins, themes, translations, etc. I'd recommend you to keep the default settings here.

The "Plugins" tab will allow you to individually enable/disable automatic updates for your plugins:

On the "Themes" tab you'll find a list with all the themes that are installed on your site. Simply select the "Allowed" or "Blocked" options for each theme:

The "Logs", "Advanced" and "Premium" tabs are very straightforward so I won't waste your time with these details ...

Instead, let's see another important question: how to rollback to a previous version of the theme/plugin after update (if something goes wrong)?

Hi,
Thanks for the lesson.

My site are hosted by WA - aren't these backed up by WA? Why would I need to install the rollback? Thanks

just because WA does a daily backup doesn't mean you shouldn't. Never assume anything when it comes to safeguarding your business and be certain that you have your own backup just in case.

You can use me as an example of what not to do. I stepped away to take a break without keeping my site current or updates updated.

When I came back it was to a site that had been infected. Site support had only backups of the infected site and wasn't able to do anything.

But fortunately, I had a copy of my site stored to the computer that got me back up and going minus a couple of changes I had made.

keep an updated back up around Just In Case, it could mean losing nothing or losing everything!

Thanks Eric. The site is still in its infancy. I just went to to WP and backed it up (Tools-Export-All content).

At some point I will lean to back up themes too....

Thanks. K
