Other Anchor Text Variations

Okay, so now you hopefully have a firm understanding of Anchor Text and two of the four types I have mentioned thus far..... The Naked Links (your website URL) and generic anchor text backlinks.

In the previous diagram, with the example of a anchor text variation, I mentioned two others:

  • Brand Links
  • LSI/Partial links

These two types of anchor text backlinks are important also. Again, to make it appear natural that your website is creating a "buzz" on the internet.

Please keep in mind, we're not attempting to do anything wrong in the eyes of the search engines. Varying your anchor text is something you should think about during your normal website promotions. And, I'll mention that at the end of this tutorial.

Okay, you might wanna get some coffee here and soak in what we have covered thus far..... Take a Break and THEN continue! :-) Go ahead..... I'll wait! :-)

Brand Links

What are "Brand Links" in reference to Anchor text ??

Well, a lot of what the new algorithms (Google and Bing search) have figured out with a naturally promoted website is the mention of your "brand".

Now, don't let the word "brand" scare you. It's a lot more simple than it sounds.

For example, this website you're reading of course is built aroundWealthy Affiliate.

That is the company name AND Kyle and Carson's brand. So, many times as anchor text, you will simply see "Wealthy Affiliate".

Another example is my website Pure Residuals. Because I promote affiliate marketing and Residual Income - two of my keywords. But, my brand name is the title of my website: Pure Residuals.

So, often, when I'm promoting my website on social media or via other methods that I'll mention later, I'll use the Anchor Text: Pure Residuals

Such as:

<a href="http://www.pureresiduals.com">Pure Residuals</a>
<a href="http://pureresiduals.com">Pure Residuals</a>

Again, this is another Variation of Anchor Text Backlinks.

NOTE:

Notice how the URLs differ in the HTML code above. Yep, I'm using both type of URLs, one with the CNAME: WWW and one without. MORE Variation.

Okay, cool!! That's three of the four types of anchor text variations. Now, for the big one. Buckle up, here we go!
